When I arrived in the car park of the hotel I realised that the on-site pub/restaurant was closed for refurbishment. Once I got inside the hotel I found out that unlike many HIE these days, this one does not serve food in the evenings.
I believe this information should have been given to me at the point of making the reservation which I made by phone to central reservations.
At breakfast the following morning I filled a bowl with porridge only to find that it was stone cold. I checked the urn and it was turned off. I have stayed here several times over the years and never had any issues. On this occasion I had two reasons to be dissapointed,one through bad communication and one through a staff oversight.

I stay twice a month at least at the hotel value for money rooms are clean good wireless connection and above all its one of the few Holiday inn expresses in the south east that can actually cook scrambled eggs.
I give it a score of 10 out of 10.

Its always been a good place to stay, i stayed here before for around 3 months, and at another time my mother stayed here also for around 3 months. the only thing negative for me is no transport to the airport, sure there is bus or taxi train, but it would be nice if it was like in the USA where the hotels provide transport.
