I enjoyed my stay in this hotel and was pleasantly surprised for a holiday inn express that there was a restaurant onsite serving evening meals.

As a 60 yr old woman, travelling alone, I did not anticipate such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Previously I have stayed at hotels overnight and felt very uncomfortable and quite honestly I may as well have made a really early morning trip for the airport.
However, the rooms were clean, comfortable and most importantly QUIET. Staff were friendly and helpful and the service I received was 1st class. Well done Holiday Inn Express, I hope all your venues are as good, certainly the staff at this one do you credit.

Stayed here for one night before attending the Ron Haslam Race School at Donington Park (well worth a try!).
Staff friendly, room clean and comfy, evening meal was very nice and not hugely expensive.
The only thing that could be improved (and it seems applicable to 'motels' and hotels) is how to soundproof the door to avoid corridor noise easily entering the room; maybe a second door behind the main door to form a small lobby??
Would use again.

Arrived late after a flight delay, booked in really quickly, so that we could settle down for the night. Despite the fact that there was a really noisy wedding party in the foyer, the staff were unfazed, and the sound proofing was such that we had a really good night's sleep. Brilliant breakfast. Would definately use agein.

I was not expecting the overnight parking charge on top of the room cost and was not impressed with the way I was asked to pay this amount when I checked in for the single night stay. it was not the amount but the fact that this charge had not been explicitly shown when I made the booking. On my next visit to Donington I will be staying somewhere else.

In all we stayed at the Holiday Inn for 5 nights in January and more recently for I night in march.
On the night in March we arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning . The first key would not open the door, we commenced unpacking in the Second room but on turning the tap on the floor of the bathroom started to flood
The third room was satisfactory but it was between 1.30 and 2am
before we got to bed.
Our car had been left in Shuttle Plus so on the Saturday morning we went to fetch it , The staff informed us that our cases would be ok to be left in the room.
We returned to the hotel at 10.25, collected our cases and left 20 minutes later-------
THIS MORNING I RECEIVED A PARKIING TICKET FOR £100
What a nightmare !
I would point out that your staff at the hotel have been excellent at all times

It is quite near to get on the early flight. But a fight between customers deep in the night spoiled my stay that night. The staff did not react promptly.

My wife and I both had a steak it was almost non chewable.We could have gone to a nice restaurant had a lovely meal for the same cost.

Booked for a 1 night stay before a flight. I was surprised by being charged £4 for a car park for 1 night, I have never experienced that before! However my main disappointment was the bed. Very hard and not at all comfy for either of us. Food was good and staff polite

Really enjoyed the experience of staying at the airport and leaving my car there, I have today received a bill for £100 from Parking Eye for leaving my car in the hotel carpark.
There appears to be a lack of communication here, which has spoilt the whole experience.
I shall not of course pay the bill

Check in was easy and quick and the rooms are a nice size with good facilities.
Staff very helpful in booking taxis to the airport, onsite restaurant and menu are Ok, Breakfast options and times excellent for an early start and staff serving were professional and helpful.
Transfer to the airport with a prebooked taxi was relaiable and reasonably price (private taxi).
Overal the experience made the start to a trip abroad smooth and easy. I arrived at the airport relaxed and ready to go!

I regularly stay at Holiday Inns across the UK, but have never had the misfortune / poor experience I had, when I chose to hold our management meeting at The East Midlands Airport Hotel. Our meeting room and the bedrooms where fine, but it was the restaurant / bar that let the Hotel down.
As our meeting only finished at 8.30pm, we chose to dine at the Hotel, only to be informed that approx 50% of the dishes on the menu where not available. Moreover, when the dishes arrived the quality of what appeared to be "micro wave ready meals" left alot to be desired.
To end our experience we had breakfast in a restaurant where the choices where not only extremely limited, but basics such as napkins / cutlery had to be sourced with the meal, rather than being present at the tables.
When entering the restaurant for breakfast no one in our party was asked what room they had stayed in, nor where we asked how our stay was when we checked out.

got back to the hotel at 1:30am after a late flight from canaries
the hotel arranged transfer, to and from airport and left car there for a week
staff were friendly, helpful and generally very welcoming. Made you feel like they knew what they were doing and made me feel good too
breakfast at Express is always limited, but you know what you are getting and always good quality
excellent hotel for travel from East Mids airport

Perfectly adequate hotel and friendly, helpful staff but to charge for in room wifi absolutely outrageous. Pity, but purely on this I would reject this properly for future stays. Indeed on my return to East Midlands Airport, I chose a different hotel.

We stayed here the night before our early departure.
It was a lovely hotel,very comfortable,and the food was delicious.
Drinks were rather expensive, but for what we paid for the room, we expected it.
The staff were very helpful and the rooms were really clean and well stocked with toiletries.

I have stayed in the hotel many times previously and find it friendly, brillant position to main motorways and the food is always very good. This stay was not one of the better stays. My room had one with a joining door and the noise of a couple arguing early morning got to the point I had to tell them to quiet it down. Not good sound proffing between doors.

I have been staying at the Hotel for many years, its 10 minutes from my Head Office, and the Hotel, its staff, service and food hit the mark 99.9% of the time, I have never had a bad stay!
Location is great being 5 mins off the M1, A50 and A42 / M42 not to mention he closeness of East Midlands Airport.
I would strongly recommend this Hotel to anybody who wants a clean, friendly efficient, reasonably priced Hotel in a great location and offeres good quality, home cooked style food.
Many thanks to all the staff past and present, there have been many changes over the years, they should be proud of what they do and how it is received by their customers even if they do not always get the positive feedback directly! I wish there more Hotel's like this all round the country, I stay in a Hotel at least 2 nights and even as an IHG Group fan you have to go a long way to beat this Hotel!

We stayed for one night after a late flight from Cyprus to avoid a 3 hour drive when tired. Four of us shared a family room which was very comfortable. The staff were frendly and helpful.
We had a good late breakfast which gave us a good choice. Parking for the night was free.
We booked in advance online and got a very good price.
The hotel is very close to the airport and easy to find.
We will, in all probability, stay again if we arrive back late from a package holiday.

This is the first time I have stayed in an Express and I won't repeat the experience. HI are great hotels with a sound offer at a fair price. Unfortunately, putting your name to this offering is a mistake in my experience at this particular property.
The dining area is cold, unfriendly and worse than a Little Chef. The rooms are basic, the furniture in my room had stains on the chairs! The bathroom was disappointing.
The manager was rude in dealing with an issue I had with my priority club points and walking off at one point mid conversation - appalling!
Overall, notwithstanding the fact that this is a budget hotel, the standards were disappointing.

We used this hotel as a late choice to stay over after being at a family wedding . Everything was a good standard and seved delivered in a very pleasant manner . Only one critiscm ... our 3 and 7 year old had to share yhe same bed . This caused a few bumps in the night . Would def have preferred to have had a pull out or put up bed so they had their own sleeping space . This is maybe ourown personal choice and didnt affect anyone but mummy being up to put them back in bed or share the duvet out . Many thanks to all .

This was a first for us in a Holiday Inn Express and we found this hotel fantastic with very polite and very helpful staff.
We would deffinately stay here again.
There is a great ironing room with four irons and boards which was fab as it meant we didn't have to bother packing our own, so more room for clothes & shoes.
Although this hotel was right on top of East Midlands Airport, you would never have known it.
The windows are triple glazed and we had such good nights sleep that you would never have realised there was an airport so close by AND we were in a room that faced the runway , which we asked for, BRILLIANT!!!!
If anyone wants somewhere to stay in this area, then go for Holiday Inn Express, It's SUPERB
Now looking forward to using Holiday Inn Express again!
