Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Room , Excellent Staff My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for three night June 2013, we found the check in to be fast and professional, as we were attending the Download Festival outdoor clothing got a bit wet and muddy however this was no problem as the stall had plenty of bags for wet & muddy shoes each evening. The Download Menu served until 01.30 was an added bonus. Our room was excellent, nice and clean and very welcoming, with superb bathroom with a lovely shower. Breakfast in the morning was very good and tasty. Will be staying again. 20 June 2013

Sadly no more as they now have no smoking rooms, afraid I move with the smoking room as a single woman on business I am not happy standing outside at night. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poor restaurant food Accomodation as to be expected, staff service very good but..................... second time staying here and twice the restaurant food has been very poor, difficult to choose between the awful hamburger last year and the dried up taglietelle and meat balls this year, both dishes a waste of money. No one in our group had anything postive to to say about the food, in fact all considered their choice poor value for money. Better to find the nearest burger van or decent restaurant! 02 June 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value As it was good value I feel sad that there were certain things that were not up to standard which really surprised me. 1) As a Rewards Club member I was not asked if I was. 2) Towels and sheets had black marks on them. 3) Parts of the bathroom were unclean and there were rusty screws on the screens. 4) The sausages were very unpleasant! 01 June 2013

Great room modern telly lots of channels it can also take a USB if you have your own films. Breakfast selection was not huge but I usually go for continental anyway. Oranejuice could have been better, nice coffee though. Check out was as hassle free as check in. Free wifi in the rooms is the only thing I would change. 28 May 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, quiet and relaxed atmosphere next to airport ! As a 60 yr old woman, travelling alone, I did not anticipate such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Previously I have stayed at hotels overnight and felt very uncomfortable and quite honestly I may as well have made a really early morning trip for the airport. However, the rooms were clean, comfortable and most importantly QUIET. Staff were friendly and helpful and the service I received was 1st class. Well done Holiday Inn Express, I hope all your venues are as good, certainly the staff at this one do you credit. 29 April 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Met expectations nicely Stayed here for one night before attending the Ron Haslam Race School at Donington Park (well worth a try!). Staff friendly, room clean and comfy, evening meal was very nice and not hugely expensive. The only thing that could be improved (and it seems applicable to 'motels' and hotels) is how to soundproof the door to avoid corridor noise easily entering the room; maybe a second door behind the main door to form a small lobby?? Despite the fact that there was a really noisy wedding party in the foyer, the staff were unfazed, and the sound proofing was such that we had a really good night's sleep. Brilliant breakfast. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by parking charge I was not expecting the overnight parking charge on top of the room cost and was not impressed with the way I was asked to pay this amount when I checked in for the single night stay. it was not the amount but the fact that this charge had not been explicitly shown when I made the booking. On my next visit to Donington I will be staying somewhere else. 12 April 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by holday inn traumatic experience In all we stayed at the Holiday Inn for 5 nights in January and more recently for I night in march. On the night in March we arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning . The first key would not open the door, we commenced unpacking in the Second room but on turning the tap on the floor of the bathroom started to flood The third room was satisfactory but it was between 1.30 and 2am before we got to bed. Our car had been left in Shuttle Plus so on the Saturday morning we went to fetch it , The staff informed us that our cases would be ok to be left in the room. We returned to the hotel at 10.25, collected our cases and left 20 minutes later------- THIS MORNING I RECEIVED A PARKIING TICKET FOR £100 What a nightmare ! I would point out that your staff at the hotel have been excellent at all times 08 April 2013

However my main disappointment was the bed. Very hard and not at all comfy for either of us. Food was good and staff polite 11 March 2013

There appears to be a lack of communication here, which has spoilt the whole experience. I shall not of course pay the bill 06 March 2013

Staff very helpful in booking taxis to the airport, onsite restaurant and menu are Ok, Breakfast options and times excellent for an early start and staff serving were professional and helpful. Transfer to the airport with a prebooked taxi was relaiable and reasonably price (private taxi). Overal the experience made the start to a trip abroad smooth and easy. I arrived at the airport relaxed and ready to go! 20 February 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best advertisement for a Holiday Inn Express I regularly stay at Holiday Inns across the UK, but have never had the misfortune / poor experience I had, when I chose to hold our management meeting at The East Midlands Airport Hotel. Our meeting room and the bedrooms where fine, but it was the restaurant / bar that let the Hotel down. As our meeting only finished at 8.30pm, we chose to dine at the Hotel, only to be informed that approx 50% of the dishes on the menu where not available. Moreover, when the dishes arrived the quality of what appeared to be "micro wave ready meals" left alot to be desired. To end our experience we had breakfast in a restaurant where the choices where not only extremely limited, but basics such as napkins / cutlery had to be sourced with the meal, rather than being present at the tables. When entering the restaurant for breakfast no one in our party was asked what room they had stayed in, nor where we asked how our stay was when we checked out. 11 February 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by late night flight arrival got back to the hotel at 1:30am after a late flight from canaries the hotel arranged transfer, to and from airport and left car there for a week staff were friendly, helpful and generally very welcoming. Made you feel like they knew what they were doing and made me feel good too breakfast at Express is always limited, but you know what you are getting and always good quality excellent hotel for travel from East Mids airport 07 February 2013

Drinks were rather expensive, but for what we paid for the room, we expected it. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were really clean and well stocked with toiletries. 03 January 2013
