Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by overall experience our overall experience at the Holiday Inn Express in Erie Pennsylvania was excellent. Our rooms were big, clean, well supplied, quiet, dark, televisions worked, WiFi worked. etc. The appearance of the hotel was very good although it was going under some renovations, however this did not effect us at all. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A very few flaws Overall, and excellent room, value, location. But room lighting is a bit spare, hard for readers. And that hallway carpet? 1960s op-art in 1970s colors! When it's worn, please replace with something quieter, more dignified. November 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very great place. Second time stayed there and in in area will again. November 15, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Call before booking to make sure no renovations going on! My daughter and I were visiting Gannon University for a recruit trip. Upon arrival after driving 7 1/2 hours in the rain the main lobby entrance was closed and signs led us to alternate entrance where a table and a makeshift check-in was set up. The attendants for some reason assumed we were there for Splash lagoon but said no checking in. We had to wait for other attendant to get off phone about 5 minutes before she could check us in. Room was very roomy and nice. In order to get to our room from alternate entrance we needed to climb over carpeting being replaced in hallways. There we workers all around. Also exercise room was not available for use as well which was one of the reasons we choose so my daughter could work out , especially because raining. Internet in room was intermittent. Hotel is probably nice if wasn't under so much renovations- I would have booked elsewhere had I known - there are many hotels in direct area to choose from, but have stayed at other Holiday Inn's with no issues. But very disappointed with this stay. November 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Last minute deal We made a last minute decision to spend a night at this hotel. It was such a nice decision because I usually book online for a room. We came in and requested for a room and we were treated very nice with the staff. I felt good for the money we spent because the accommodations were excellent. November 13, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dusty everywhere the hotel is currently under renovation and it's dusty everywhere, including the entrance, the lobby, the reception, the corridor, elevators and breakfast area. There are contractors everywhere. When I walked into the breakfast area in the morning, the breakfast room was filled with men contractors. Each of them occupy one single table. No offence to them, but it's a different experience when you are having breakfast with non-hotel guests in the same area. Perhaps a separate room for the hotel guests will be better. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms Good. But Common Areas under construction I came in without a reservation due to an unexpected trip East. Greeted warmly at the check in desk. Was offered a room and asked if I was a rewards member. The Common areas [first floor hallway, Breakfast Room, Elevator area] are under re-construction. The area was quite dusty [even on a Sunday evening]. Thought that I should have been offered a discounted rate for this instead of the Standard Rate. Only half of the Breakfast room was usable due to the construction. Elevators were REAL SLOW. Also, many hairs on wall of the tub -- good thing my wife was not there to see that !!!! Maybe they were having a bad day on November 8th November 11, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by my review I was not impressed with my overall experience during this visit. I had stayed a year earlier and I only stay at Holiday Inn locations when traveling. I thought the construction could have been done in a better way to allow movement through the halls without climbing over the construction workers and waiting for them. I thought a better job should have been done to assure the elevator for guests was clean. there was one for guests but construction personnel still used this. The check in could have been better to focus on me checking in and less time discussing their personnel lives on where they were going and what they are going to do for evening and weekends.
