Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Friendly staff, but don't expect a mobile signal !
A slightly tricky place to find with no signs visible from the main A12 road. The welcome was warm and the hotel pleasant. However, I had no mobile signal for the entire 3-night stay. The hotel WiFi was fine though.
The room was decent, spotlessly clean and maintained in that state, although it lacked some of the facilities of its Holiday Inn brethren (e.g. Ironing board & trouser press).
My biggest issue was the "bouncy castle" bed which I found very uncomfortable to sleep on - why can't Holiday Inn follow another "Inn" group and provide firm, comfortable mattresses ?
It would also be helpful if check-in staff advised that nothing could be charged to the room without a credit card. I came down for dinner only to have to go back to my room to get my credit card as I couldn't order anything without it - this despite having booked the room on the same credit card.
Breakfast was somewhat limited with hot food consisting of sausages, processed scrambled egg or baked beans. However, it was included in the room rate which itself represented very good value.
Other than the above I had a pleasant stay but probably wouldn't return because of the beds.

very good overall, super clean and tidy. Just need to be more competitive with the bar prices.

Nice to have free parking (which is becoming more of a rarity these days. Room was cold on arrival and took an age to warm up. The bed felt like it was 20 years old: sank in the middle and you could feel the springs! Not good.
Staff were very professional though.

Nice hotel, good location, great staff.
Consistently awful WiFi which is so bad it is at times unusable
Prices jumped by 30% with new menu, quality of food no different.

the only thing that was wrong with our stay was the mattresses on the beds need to be changed as they are very lumpy and uncomfortable. we have stayed before and had the same problem.

Surly unwelcoming reception staff, blocked sink I arrived late and tired and did not discover the blocked hand basin until later after I had unscheduled
The bed was uncomfortable - I could feel the springs of the mattress in my back

Stay here regularly, lovely hotel, great staff, clean and comfortable. WiFi is so slow it's unusable. New menu in place, the award winning pie was very poor quality and cold.
