Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very poor breakfast A very disappointing testament to Scottish food. The hot breakfast consisted of sausage, scrambled egg and beans; no other choices. Also, they were badly displayed, glass cabinets one on top of the other making service very difficult. 03 November 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal place to stay in heart of things Comfortable, clean room but with an unfortunate view of a brick wall. However, we didn't choose the accommodation for the views but for its close proximity to the centre of theatreland in Glasgow and in that it did not disappoint. We did have a few issues with the room, not a double bed as requested and TV not working - both of which we reported - and, although the staff were perfectly pleasant, we felt that they could have been more thorough in meeting our needs. TV was not fixed and were told that in a standard room, we could have a double or twin. Why offer the option of choice at booking if its not going to be listened to? Breakfast was plentiful and functional with particularly pleasant, warm waiting staff. 01 November 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient place to stay Have just spent two days at this hotel and found it to be a welcoming and comfortable place to stay. My room on the fifth floor was clean and tidy and the bathroom was spotless. It was in an excellent position being in the city centre and the bus station was about two minutes away if you need to travel out of the city. The only criticism that I have is the breakfast, which was a little disappointing compared with other Holiday Inns that I have stayed at, but this would not deter me from staying there again. 31 October 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A no hastle hotel You get exactly what you need for a comfortable night's rest in a very convenient position in this city at a reasonable price. Note that a Saturday night is more expensive than a Sunday night but the average is most reasonable. Car parking is available across the street at an excellent price. 31 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to relax! I was very happy about my stay at this hotel. The staff were friendy and attentive. The bed was extremely comfortable allowing me and my girlfriend to get a fanastic sleep. The shower was powerful and clean. The location was very much ideal and close to all things Glasgow! Check ins and outs were seamless! 30 October 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by central location and very comfortable I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions, first for easiness from the bus and train station, and then for the comfort and general use of the facilities. As an elderly person, I had not difficulties during my stay. I would hope to return to the same hotel anytime I am to be in Glasgow. 27 October 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great location the location, the staff were excellent. They made me feel comfortable and were very eager to please, only negative was room a bit small but kept immaculate and comfortable. 23 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable and convenient Always stay here when in Glasgow city centre would not stay anywhere else. Minor quibbles--price has shot up since commonwealth games, so not as good value as in previous years. Duvet a bit too thick in unseasonably hot weather. Would have preferred an extra sheet to slleep under so I could dispense with the Duvet.. 22 October 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient location I have stayed several times at the Express by Holiday in Glasgow Theatreland ,because of its location ,first when our son was a student in the city and on subsequent visits. The public car park is directly opposite. There is a good Italian restaurant next door for an evening meal. You are a few minutes away from Buchanan Calleries and the shopping!! Check in goes smoothly and the rooms are clean and functional. My only problem is lack of sleep. With the windows shut the room is stuffy and with the windows open the sirens of fire brigade and police throughout the night are disturbing. Since my stay is usually short that can be coped with. I always request a quiet room but that has never been attained with a room directly above the street! 22 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Short break Hotel was very clean, staff very friendly and helpful and was close to all main attractions 22 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value at the heart of Glasgow Rooms were fresh and clean and with a free breakfast thrown in this hotel was good value. It is situated in the heart of Glasgow which makes visiting Glasgow's attractions simple and easy and many are within walking distance. Also close to great shopping and nightlife but quite enough to relax. Staff were friendly and welcoming and always ready to answer any questions you had. 21 October 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy lifts and drain odours I stayed in room 454 on my first week and it was a better room than 552 which I stayed in the second week. One of the lifts at the hotel has a problem when reaching up to the 5th floor as there is some obvious friction that makes a loud noise and shakes the building. In 552, there was a bad odour emanating from the drains in the sink and shower that made the whole room smell. I had to use mouth wash in a glass to mask the odour. Other than that I had a large enough bed and the bathroom was ample in size. The breakfast was better than some other 4/5 start hotels and the ladies are very friendly. But they need to be present more often (at least one lady in the in the breakfast room at a time) so that they can deal with guest queries quicker. 21 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by City break with young children Arrived early but this was no problem for the staff who allowed us into our room. Travelled alone with two young children who were made to feel welcome by staff. Comfortable room, in great location, with friendly staff. 20 October 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What an experience First off let me say that my wife and I attended at the hotel courtesy of a prize for winning a raffle at my place of work. Having never been to the hotel before my expectations were, shall we say mixed. Our stay was excellent from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Excellent reception staff, breakfast staff and cleaning staff. Very pleasant surroundings and the room was great. All that plus the addition of a warm breakfast was the icing on the cake. One of my big worries was where to park the car. Again no problem a deal with the car park adjacent to the hotel meant that I could leave my car for 12 hours overnight for £12 a bargain. Plenty to do in the area in relation shopping and eating out. This hotel is well worth a visit and if you book well in advance there are some great deals to be had. Well done one and all. 16 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What a great surprise. Let me start of by saying that our stay was with courtesy of the hotel who provided a prize for our local care home fete earlier this year. So, where would I start? Excellent staff, lovely room, very comfortable, easy walk to a multitude of shops, cafe's and restaurants as well as the theatres of course. My concern was parking but a deal with the car park directly across from the hotel at £12 for 24 hours gave me peace of mind. The reception staff were excellent as were the breakfast team and cleaners all in all a great experience and with advance booking deals this is certainly a hotel worth considering when in the city. Well done my wife and I will definitely return. 15 October 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Confortable bed, clean room and good breakfast Good central position - near bus station for connection to onward travel. 13 October 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Good Choice Comfortable and functional - shame the shower caps are too small! 13 October 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and comfortable stay. Great location as just a 2 minute walk to main shopping area. Staff helpful and friendly. Room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast good with plenty to choose from. Overall, we will certainly be coming back to this hotel again. Would recommend it. 08 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service and Very Friendly Staff We found the Holiday Inn Express to be a lovely place to stay with very friendly staff, comfortable beds and the hotel was immaculate. Great location for Bus Station, Concert Hall and not forgetting the vast shopping area. Breakfast was lovely but would have liked a slice of bacon or two! A very valuable item was left in the room by mistake and having gone back a few hours later, after we had checked out, we were delighted to discover the item was in the safe - thank you to the staff member who found it and handed it in. We would certainly recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation in staying there again. 06 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good location- recommended The location is at the edge of city centre, but very convenient to everything in city centre. I walked throughout the city centre area from here and back quite easily. Its a 1 1/2 blocks from the Buchanan Galleries and the Sauchiehall Street Promenade. Its about a 2 to 3 block walk from the subway system and the train system. I used both the train and the subway in my time there, and it was a bit over a 5 minute walk to get there. George Square is on the next block from the train station. You get the point- its easily accessible to everything. If you need to catch a cab, the hotel has a special phone near the front door that connected to a cab company that came to the hotel to pick you up. They have a FREE breakfast, which is always going to win points in my book- gotta cut costs no matter where you go!! The staff was very helpful as far as giving directions to locations downtown and beyond and was generally very nice. If there were any cons, I guess it would be that the hotel is on a major road, and that we could hear traffic. That situation might change with the room though. Other than that, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Room Tip: If you can, try to get a room away from the road, although I dont know if thats possible. 02 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Friendly staff The staff was very friendly and customer focused, made sure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable 01 October 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great beds, breakfast not quite as great Room slightly smaller than others as it was on a corner. Facilities good. Mattress and bedding allowed us an excellent night's sleep. Hot items for breakfast very basic. Sausages, tomatoes, scrambled eggs and beans. Was looking forward to bacon, black pudding and maybe a bit of haggis pudding. 01 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by friendly staff, clean hotel and perfect location Definitely would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a city centre location. Good price, great staff and a lovely hotel as a base for exploring the city of Glasgow. High five! 29 September 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very good apart from the noise This hotel struck me as being very 'fit for purpose', everything was clean and tidy and there was plenty of space. Unfortunately there was the biggest ensemble of air conditioning units imaginable sited outside and these kept going all night. Although they were always noisy you don't notice them at first with the traffic but afterwards.... Courtesy of a local bar this did not become an issue until 0400 when finding another room wasn't really an option. 27 September 2014
