I just spent two nights at The Holiday Inn Express Harlow, as a combination of a work appointment, and leisure - visiting friends. It's about a mile from Harlow Town train station, easily walkable, but there are cabs at the station if you prefer.
I've got nothing but the highest praise for the hotel. It feels very new and modern. Check in was quick and easy. The room was standard HI Express fare, but immaculate - large sofa, comfortable bed, decent TV, and bathroom with power shower. The room keys are modern and work by simply touching the card on the room door pad, a bit like an Oyster card on London transport. I don't know if I was particularly tired on these nights but I had two brilliant nights sleep. I was on the 3rd (of 4) floors and it was beautifully quiet. I couldn't hear anything from outside.
I dined in the hotel bar on the first night, and the food was excellent. Decent selection of alcoholic and no doubt also soft drinks on tap.
The review wouldn't be complete without a mention of the staff. Kamal, who checked me in, and served me for dinner was excellent. He was welcoming and friendly, I've often found that a good experience with the hotel front desk staff sets the tone for the rest of the stay (and vice-versa) and this was no exception. Jolanta, who checked me out was also very nice. In fact, everyone I dealt with was very professional.
Price-wise, it was also extremely reasonable as well as being very convenient for various large shops and amenities and I would have no problem recommending this hotel for a stay in Harlow.

Stayed here before. Handy for people I was visiting in Harlow.
Only issue is with parking. There is nowhere legal to park while checking in/unloading luggage if the small carpark is full (which it usually is). A few limitied waiting bays would be helpful so you don't risk getting a parking fine while checking in/gettng the parking toicket for the mulitstory.
Rest of stay was up to usual standard.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Deep_Thought convenient location
Stayed here twice due to convenience of the location. Found the room to be very noisy due to the location but the staff were excellent. Friendly and attentive. Bar menu very limited but not much competition in the area unless prepared to drive. Compared to the usual places I try to stay in, found this Hotel to be more expensive and less interesting

Great service from front desk staff. I was only here for a short period of time, but will stay here again and can recommend it to anyone travelling into the City, as close to Harlow Town railway station.

a one-night stay over whilst on a business trip - the hotel is quite new so obviously has a fresh look and feel about it - I only had breakfast which is the usual Holiday Inn Express offering and acceptable if you're not looking for a big boy breakfast.
The only downside is the car parking - the hotel has a car park the size of a postage stamp - there is an adjacent multi-story (1970's concrete monolith) which there appears to be little option but to use - I was decidedly concerned about the safety of my car but as it turned out all was well....

You might want to change the selection of hot breakfast menu tow or three times a week. As well as having a "special" item or two on the dinner menu.

Excellent hotel for business and pleasure. Clean, affordable and friendly staff. Only issue is a very small car park which means using the municipal car park next door. This entails walking from your car to the hotel to be given a parking ticket which you have to return to the car to put on the dashboard.
