Fantastic service, staff were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant across the road was within walking distance and food was very nice.

Booked last minute with no problem, staff very helpful and the room had everything we needed. Excellent breakfast included in the price.

Booked on line and rolled up at past 10pm. Had to park at rear of the building where the car park overflow runs into residential parking. Told to be very aware of this as fines can be imposed.
Staff at desk were very helpful and informative - particularly ref the parking. I moved car

A budget hotel which was ok with pleasant staff. Apparently my text is too short for this site but REALLY there is not that much to say about a budget hotel with pleasant staff!!!!!

First off I would like to say that I have stayed a number of times at this Holiday Inn Express and never had cause to write a bad review before.
We stayed 1 night Saturday 28th February, in room 409 which we have stayed in previously. Unfortunately this time the wall lamp shade had been badly damaged and it didn't look like it had happened recently, also there was wine stains on the floor which were still wet and the bed sheet had a tear in it too. Now I realise that this is not a 4/5 star hotel but surely certain standards should be met? If the room wasn't ready why wasn't an alternative not offered?
Breakfast the following morning was not good either, they ran out completely of knives & forks and whilst I waited for them to be replenished my cooked breakfast got cold (I had to wait that long# I gave up in the end and had cereals, which I felt was just a waste of a plate of food which was unnecessary.
It seems the hotel cannot handle being busy #which it was for breakfast) and that basic maintenance is not being carried out.
Finally I have still recommended this hotel as "normally" things are fine and it represents good value for money. But I wanted to make the management aware that they cannot let things slip, otherwise I will look elsewhere.
