This room was large and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable.
The downside is that new furniture was poorly placed. The armchair/ottoman was jammed next to the desk. Two lamps were side-by-side and difficult to reach.
There is nothing this hotel can do about freeway noise, but there is plenty of it. I found that if you turn the HVAC fan on at night it acts as white noise. Wish I had thought of that the first night but it worked fine.
This property is centrally placed in the San Diego area.Getting everywhere was simple.

One of the workers at the front desk need to learn how to talk respectfully to their customer. Other than the rudeness by one I did have a good stay.

This is the perfect property if you are comming to the area for business. They offer all the needed amentites and the location is convenient.

This Holiday Inn Express suited our purposes very well as we were meeting family at the Anthony's next door. It was located next to Interstate 8 and would put us well out of the city, on our way back to Phoenix,AZ, before rush hour the next morning.
The entry to the hotel was concerning with people sitting in (folding style chairs by the lobby door. And the tiles were cracked or just missing on the walkway.
We paid for, but were unable to use, the breakfast facilities. The breakfast would not available until 6:30 am and we would need to leave the hotel by 5:30 am in order to be back in Phoenix by noon. Access to bagels or cereal would have been adequate. The coffee provided in the lobby was AWFUL. It came out of the vacuum pot like tan water. We needed to find a Starbucks or coffee shop right away just to get the day started right. Somebody needs to learn how to make coffee.
All in all Nice on the interior, dated on the exterior, needs A LOT of work on the coffee

Made advance payment for stay and they charged me again at checkout. After being told that they showed my payment when I checked in.

I could not check out. The attendant was not at desk. I know it was very early 3:45am. But I saw a sign that stated will be back, but after waiting for ten minutes and calling out for service and got no response I called on my cell and I heard the attendant answer he was close but didn't respond to my voice until my call. And then he could not get the computer to print up my receipt which I need for my expense report. Which I still need to get a copy.
