We have never used Holiday Inn Express before but chose it due to its convenient location. We were extremely pleased with the room quality and facilities . The staff were exceptional including the chef who catered for us around our business time restrictions. The breakfast was of a high and varied standard and was kept well replenished. I cannot fault it.

It's great when you can say the staff were happy and helpful. Our kettle was tempremental and a new one was delivered to our room within minutes. Extra milk was never a problem.
Room was clean and comfortable.
The only thing I would say is a few extra staff at breakfast time would easy the pressure on staff. Also if guests cleared their dishes away it would help.
We will stay again.

The hotel staff were excellent from start to finish. The room and bathroom were clean and tea and coffee plentiful. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. I would definately recommend this hotel as it was excellent value for money.

Staff are helpful and friendly. Room was clean. Only issue we had was the corridor was smelling of cigarette smoke which was coming into our room. Some guests very noisy so could hear them
banging on doors, woke up a few times on the first night. Location is good, breakfast options are satisfactory. Room TV needs to be upgraded.
Would stay again, but will ask for non smoking areas of the hotel!

The hotel staff are approachable, helpful and friendly. Any issues what so ever, they did their best to help us. We stayed with 2 small children and we had a nice stay. The rooms are cleaned daily which was good.

Apart from a horriable smell as you walk into the room the bed was ok...Breakfast don't expect a cooked breakfast....tasteless scrambled eggs, bitty sausages, beans was ok but no bacon.
toast you had to queue up to fight for the toaster....why oh why do they only fill up the bread section a half loaf at a time...
Good point was it was free...opposite was a hotel that charges an extra £20 a night and you get full breakfast and leisure ammenties.
location was good for what we required and its close to a kfc.
Reception staff was ok but beakfast staff mmmmm its the start of the day not the end.
As with most hotels like this its soulless the only ambience is having to hear the tv and radio on at the same time while eating breakfast.

This is a better hotel than described on their own website. The reception is wonderful with a nice relaxed bar and a lovely breakfast with lots of variety included in the price. If you arrive late there is a KFC less than 5 minutes away

The Toasters ceased to function due to a socket blowout apparentley.
The staff just said they were not working due to reason above and made no attempt to correct the situation by moving any of the three toasters to anothr socket or offer to have the toast done in the kitchen.
The desk Clerk/Manager excused the problem by saying that during breakfast time he was addressing a problem with another guest within the hotel.
At no point were the breakfast staff apologetic or offer anything in way of compensation or ask if the inconveniece caused us a problem. Similarly as mentioned above the desk on checkout offered no solice other than his justification why he was not around to address the problem.
Whilst I believe your chain give value and normally good service, I do not feel I could use or recommend this particular hotel in Walsall again.

We was very impressed with this hotel. Very new and clean. Staff were great, made my kids a hot chocolate to help them go to sleep with no charge. Top marks! If every in the area again would rebook at this hotel! Thanks for the stay.

My husband and I stayed overnight at the weekend,and were very impressed with our overall experience for the price we paid.
James on the front desk was a very pleasant and helpful desk manager.
The room although fairly basic was clean,bed very comfortable,but what surprised us the most was the complimentary breakfast in the morning,we are not people with large appetitesand were expecting a coffee and croissant, however what a lovely surprise,fresh fruit,fresh fruit juice,cereals,and a choice of cooked sausages,lovely scrambled egg,and beans....
Very impressed and would definately stay here again if in the area and certainly recommend it to family and friends.

Excellent value after coming from a nearby youth hostel which where the customer care was shocking and only £4 cheaper.
Amazingly difficult to find, but on arrival a complementary drinking chocolate for my little boy did the trick, thankyou Ania (I think).
All staff really friendly and a credit to the company, beer could have been better but that's being picky.
Only surprise was no meals on Fridays, but staff more than happy to produce takeaway menus and allow you to use hotel phone to order and eat it in the bar area.
Definitely stay again.

the hotel was lush s you walked in it was nice and modern and the staff were very friendly ! The rooms was nice and the beds comfy. the bath room was clean.
Breakfast was great although not much hot food but we didn't want that so it was great. this is a really good place to stay will stay again !

We have stayed at this hotel previously as it is convenient when visiting family and friends in the area plus it is close to J10 of the M6 so is easy to find.
The room we had was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. All the staff we encountered were friendly, polite and helpful.
Breakfast is classed as "complimentary" and as such has a limited choice but was ok (edible and hot which is always a plus!!)
We think this hotel is excellent value for money and is definitely suitable as a short-stay option i.e. one or two nights only.

Reception nice, clean and bright plus modern. Friendly staff. Clean rooms, comfy beds and good lighting. Nice breakfast except powdered scrambled eggs but otherwise nice and fresh (especially the croissants).
Disappointed with limited TV channels (not Freeview) and not able to play my kids DVD's on it via scart cable.
Weird intermittent noise and vibration all the time but quite noticeable during the night, woke my wife up and that takes some doing(!) - thought there was a train parked outside the hotel on the first night!

this is our 4th stay at a holiday inn express, and certainly cant praise it enough. very clean rooms a good nights sleep and a wonderful hearty breakfast. I have only one gripe. breakfast is very good apart from the scrambled eggs, there seems to be no taste to it, but everything else is champion and good value for money.

This was our second time visiting this holiday inn, and it didn't disappoint, clean rooms, friendly staff and a nice lounge area for chilling out after a long day. Thankfully I had decent 3g coverage with o2 as there was no free wifi. The rooms had air conditioning which was welcomed in the hot weather, the rooms were clean and spacious(double room) and it was nice to have a decent shower where the water actually showered you and not dribble like some cheap hotels. Breakfast buffet offered a really good selection from fruit, cereal to hot food however the vegetarian sausages were refilled using the same utensils as the meat ones which marred the complete experience and meant missing out on them.
Overall I would go back again as the wifi isn't a massive miss and I would hope the comments regarding vegetarian food handling was observed as the hotel has so many other positives.

I regularly stay in HIE and you know what to expect. Handy location, comfort without too many frills and good value for money. It was the first time I stayed at Walsall and it was pretty much as I expected apart from one of the staff members. I usually find HIE staff very friendly and helpful, much more so than other chains in this range. When I arrived at Walsall I was met with a disinterested, downright rude woman on reception. I was quite taken aback by her attitude. No eye contact, mumbling "y'oright?". She managed to give me a room number, I had to ask about meal availability and she didn't mention internet access. I am a priority club member but not bothered whether this is acknowledged as long as I get my access code. I didn't realise she hadn't given it to me till some time later. I had to return to reception and ask a more helpful person for it. The woman was still at reception and heard this exchange, but didn't apologise for her oversight, she just slunk off into the office area. Very poor. It would put me off going back to this hotel, I don't expect any more than politeness but on this occasion was disappointed.

friendly welcome my 2nd visit and both times treated well as a member and given water and biscuits which I have not received anywhere else . .Also given a voucher for 50%of the bar.
The breakfast was OK but the sausages were terrible and the toaster not working well

We make a trip to Wolverhampton once a year and have stopped at this Holiday Inn Express for the last 4. The staff, hotel and location has suited us down to the ground, relaxing, friendly and convenient. However when we arrived on Friday evening 26th the receptionist who booked us in was surly, abrupt and positively unpleasant, so unlike all our previous visits and all the other staff. Normally the receptionists are very engaging, helpful and obliging. I think this particular member of staff needs some training. Otherwise we were very satisfied and will be back again.
