Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very nice place after we found it! a wonderful place; However, 1 recommendation for future improvement: we arrived late on a rainy night; the hotel is located BEHIND other places and we initially missed seeing it and drove 2 miles past the facility, before calling and turning around and coming back to it; your staff told us that we were not the first ones who missed it late at night, especially on a bad weather night; can we recommend [a] the website include the specific notation of the behind other places and better yet, for both ease of finding it and for general advertisement, why don't you erect a large sign or pole on the street/route number itself? otherwise, it was a wonderful place. thanks. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn - Lincoln, IL This was a rewards stay for multiple nights. The property is fine. I did not have an issue until I got home and looked at my receipt. The one issue I have with Holiday Inns and other IHG properties is the way they bill your credit card and say it is for "incidentals." I don't mind giving them a credit card to have on file "in case" there are incidentals (which I never have), but my credit card was charged for "accommodations" plus tax FOR EACH NIGHT of my stay. I did not check my receipt at check out because it was a rewards stay and I did not expect any charges. I told the desk clerk I wanted to verify there were no charges to my card. The clerk did not say the was any, so I did not bother to check the statement there. The next day as I viewed the bill I see my card was charged for "accommodations" plus tax. This prompted a call to the hotel where I was told it will come off my card in five days. As a rewards member, I have no problem giving them a card "in case" there are incidentals, which I will never have. But I don't like them actually billing me for each night of my stay. There is nothing on my final receipt that states these charges are a hold for incidentals, only that they are for accommodations on a room that should have been covered. Thinking I had actually been charged for the room, I had to take time out of my morning to contact the hotel and ask what the charges were for. IHG properties are the only hotels I have this issue with. In some cities where the room should have been on a direct bill to the company I work for, the entire hotel stay has been charge to my own personal credit card. It requires much effort to get the charges corrected. It is way too much work to have to go through. I like staying at IHG properties, but to be honest, this issue alone makes me consider staying with other hotels where I don't have to keep track of what is being charged to my credit card as "incidentals" and then spend time getting the issue corrected. This is not a random occurrence, it has happened on several occasions, ALWAYS AT IHG PROPERTIES. August 24, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vacation Plus While on vacation I planned my stay to enjoy our time away. Lincoln, IL was so pleasing and rewarding for our ( year old who is learning about Presidents. The staff at HIE knew so much about places to go to help us get to the right spots. Our stay was well rewarding with the accommodations and services. August 24, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not a quality property This property used to be something else....one of the "budget" chains...and it's clearly not up to Holiday Inn Express standards. No sink or mirror in the bathroom, for example, the sort of layout you only expect in a cheap hotel. We had a king bed reserved, but on check-in we were told there were none available. We were kept awake much of the night by loud footsteps from above us....Not sure if it was a hallway or someone pacing around their room, but it went on for hours. The first morning we were down for breakfast at 8:45, and there were no cinnamon rolls available. We were told "we ran out." So the next morning we came down a full hour before breakfast closed....same story, out of cinnamon rolls. When you have something that is your "signature" item in your breakfast service, you should make certain you have it available. Just a poor overall experience that is NOT typical of a Holiday Inn Express. August 21, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CLEAN and COMFORTABLE! I have worked in the hotel business and I was impressed. The entire hotel is clean and updated. The rooms are spacious. The beds are comfortable and you can select firm or soft pillows. The food is fresh and there is a wide selection. You will not leave breakfast hungry. There is something for everyone. The indoor pool and hot tub do not overwhelm with the smell of chlorine, and there is a shower for guests to rinse off on site. The internet service is fully functional. There is a fitness center and a guest laundry room. The staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. They are giving top quality service in a small town setting. August 20, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DIssappointed Very loud in hallway. The noise was easily heard in the room. Hard to sleep with so much noise in hallway. Should not have pets stay. We had one barking all night across the hall. Will try a different hotel next time in the area. August 19, 2015
