Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PERECT FOR STOP OVER Perfect hotel and situation for overnight stay - either arrival at or departure from airport. Taxi from rank outside airport - cost was roughly £5. I arrived at midnight after long flight, and straight into freezing cold British weather (March '13# - my room's central heating was just wonderful and could be individually controlled. The bathroom had a power shower and the water was hot. Bed was comfortable with a choice of either firm or soft pillows - very good idea. Buffet breakfast was more than adequate for me. Reception staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Taxi #which Reception called) to South Parkway station costs roughly £6. Will definitely stay here on my next UK visit. 04 April 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good base if flying from Liverpool; nothing else going for it. Room comfortable, clean and quiet. Food awful and bar service even worse. Totally unable to cope and had run out of almost all meal choices by 8.30pm. Staff friendly but overrun and seemingly out of their depth. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very noisy I arrived at just after midnight from Fuerteventura. The room was okay and I went to bed straight away. Within about an hour there were loads of people running up and down the corridor shouting and screaming and banging on doors. This continued for more than an hour. I mentioned this to the reception staff the next morning and was told it was a party of 27 on a stag do and what could they do-not really a satisfactory response. Breakfast was the usual standard and acceptable. 09 March 2013

We stayed at the HIE Liverpool Airport before a long weekend away and took advantage of the very reasonable parking rates. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great cost & service. Could not fault this hotel at all. Staff very helpful. Rooms very clean, modern and plenty of space. Whilst the breakfast is all you can eat hot & cold, the staff double checked before it was cleared away that everyone had finished and if we required anymore. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. 17 February 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ease for an early flight The Holiday Inn Express at Liverpool airport was an excellent stay before catching an early flight, in our case to Alicante We worried we would not get breakfast but it was a continental breakfast with a wide choice served from 4am!!! The evening before was the chance for a well cooked pizza and glass of wine We will use the hotel again 17 February 2013

Breakfast very poor, food not topped up, dirty crockery on tables, staff seemed to be busy but not sure what they were doing. No wifi available, had to work so had to find the nearest McDonalds. Overall not a great stay, not up to the usual standard even for an Express. 09 February 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Awful service, spoilt the start to the holiday We arrived at the hotel at 11.30 pm after booking 3 rooms and 7 days car parking for 2 cars with email conformation only to find out they had no rooms left!! There was no effort to help us out and we had to sleep in the cars in the long stay car park and pay £85 for parking!!!!!!! Not the sort of service you expect from Holiday Inns 01 February 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Airport stop-over hotel The only down side to the hotel was that the Wi-Fi wasn't available due to a technical error with the hotel and also despite saying it serves breakfast from 4am, when we got up at 5am for an early flight it was only cold breakfasts available at that point in time. Cooked breakfast was available later in the morning only. Other than that a very good hotel to stay out if an early flight is being taken from Liverpool airport. 20 January 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Invoice and Cradit card charged I'm absolutely furious about my journey at that Hotel. The amount taken in my credit card was 2 times over the amount of the invoice. I complained many times to have my money back and to get the final invoice. What I can see now is that they did not give me back the VAT amount! How can I do please. The front desk responsible (Vicky) that charged my credit card at check in was not there for my check out. And nobody was able to answer me properly at this time.... Poor experience, and money still missing... Regards, 03 January 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent hotel, shame about the breakfast The hotel was conveniently located for where we needed to be the next day. The room was very good, at a very reasonable rate - apart from a window that did not shut quite enough to soundproof the room from night time traffic. The welcome at Reception was courteous, but not effusive. Luckily we were aware of the energy saving properties of the keycard, which was not explained to us as first time visitors. Breakfast the next day was somewhat disappointing. A breakfast attendant who made little eye contact and proceeded to spend most of the duration of our meal sitting down, as it was quite quiet. Cold, small plates wre the only ones available. Poor choice on buffet - eggs any way you like as long as they were scrambled and dry, no bacon, etc. Overall, a decent hotel, recommended for room standard and value, but not for the breakfast. 17 December 2012

The lady on the bar was very friendly and made us feel very welcome, reception ordered our cab to the airport in the morning and everything was great. 03 December 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value but give me a mushroom An excellent hotel for a short stay in transit or on rapid business. For a couple it's excellent value, particularly if booked online in advance. The architecture is brutalist, but inside It struck me as clean and bright; the room was pretty quiet given the proximity of airport and main road and the staff were unfailingly good humoured and helpful -- perfectly willing to go the extra mile. The only irritation was that the room key-cards seemed to fail rather a lot. Dare I say that the cooked breakfast could be perked up in quality and variety? After a few days one could kill for something other than the standard three components. But I'd happily visit again. 18 October 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brilliant staff! The staff were exceptionally helpful, nothing was too much trouble, from booking taxis to recommending restaurants. Special thanks to Pauline, Vicky and James. The room was clean and comfortable although a little more light and a mirror over the desk/dressing table would have been an improvement. Breakfast hot food was rather limited with just sausage, scrambled egg and beans and on the first of two mornings, despite asking for some, we got no sausages at all!!! Also the bar shut around 1am and it would have been nice after the 50th party that we had been to that guests could have come back for a couple of drinks before retiring to bed. Other than that, a good stay that we enjoyed. Overall good hotel though. 12 October 2012
