Just a list of issues. Overpriced drinks (Boddingtons on tap - urggh) so better off going down the road to the Honeybee if you need a better pint. Loud and roudy in the public areas. Breakfast had no milk available. Breakfast had no bacon, just eggs and sausages? Table was cleared away too quickly whilst we were still there - got up to go back to the kitchen for toast and found everything, including my tea and yoghurts had been removed? Internet - given the code yet it never worked on any of my devices, so completely useless giving a wi-fi code out. Overall a poor experience.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mikeandlyndac Excellent overnight stay with great value
We stayed at this hotel before flying out of Manchester airport the next day, and we could not fault this hotel at all. The room was spacious, well appointed and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and we could not believe we would get such a good one at such a reasonable price for our stay. The staff were very attentive and we cannot fault this hotel in any way

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ric17 Great Food & Service, Dodgy Shuttle Bus, Poor Customer Service from Manager.
I regularly stay at IHG hotels both for work and leisure. I spent 5 nights at this hotel in September.
On a positive note, the staff/service was excellent and the quality of the breakfast and evening meals was very good - much better than any other HI Express I have stayed in.
Another notable aspect to highlight is the large shower units - again, much better than a normal HI Express.
The shuttle bus between the airport and hotel is far from ideal. On one evening I waited in excess of 25 minutes after 3 calls. On another night I had to resort to a taxi as there was a fault with the hotel switchboard. The service is far from professional and very cramped when full - transit vehicle with limited luggage storage. This is easily the worst hotel shuttle service I have had to use and you pay £3 for the privilege. Coach is not particularly clean and I'm not convinced the drivers use hands-free phone - clearly a H&S/insurance issue.
Finally, I discovered that my stay was deemed as Non-Qualifying for IHG reward points as it was booked through a corporate website. Worse still is that even my food bill was deemed nott eligible for points even though I paid this bill separately. This is the first time I have experienced this issue anywhere. I contacted the hotel front desk and asked that the General Manager to contact me to discuss. I was promised a call back the following day. I then had to make 3 further calls to hotel before hotel manager finally returned my call after 7pm. He then promised to look into the matter and call me back the following day - alas, he didn't have the courtesy to keep the promise of a follow up call. This is a excellent example of poor customer service.
Given that the idea of IHG Rewards is to incentivise repeat custom then this hotel has failed to grasp the general principles and I will take my custom elsewhere and recommend that any other business travellers using corporate websites choose the Crowne Plaza or a city centre IHG hotel to ensure you receive points.
