Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another great Holiday Inn Express We stayed in February with the kids. Everything we expected from Holiday Inn Express, family friendly, polite and helpful staff. Breakfast was really good and restaurant wasn't crowded. There was £5 charge for car parking which wasn't bad at all considering the location of the hotel. We would be certain to use again. 24 February 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay, great hotel Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express as visiting the area for a wedding. Hotel is very central to everything in Poole. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Hotel is lovely and extremely clean. Rooms are good and well sized and very comfortable. Had a slight issue with our key card and locking of our door but this was resolved within 10 minutes. Air con was a bit confusing to figure out but we got there in the end!. Hotel from the outside could do with a fresh up but overall happy experience and would definately stay here again. Only quirk... Waitress in the breakfast area.. it costs nothing to smile !.. thanks for a great stay. 24 February 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Bad experience this stay An atypically bad stay at this hotel. The room was as clean and comfortable as ever, but our problems started when the AC unit in the room insisted on pumping out cold air even when set on the Heat setting, so had to be switched off. A call to reception resulted in an electric heater being bought to the room, unfortunately the first one would not switch on at all so a 2nd unit had to be asked for and was provided. The problems didn't end there though as it became apparent in the quiet of night that the AC unit was continuously making a running water sound which was loud enough the disrupt sleep. As it was the middle of the night we decided not to tell reception at this time. Further disappointment was that the shower in the morning struggled to get past luke-warm despite the control being all the way up to hot. We were further disappointed that the breakfast staff seemed unable to keep up with demand ( we arrived at breakfast at 9:30) The hot food choice was limited and constantly appeared to run out. plus both cutlery and crockery were in constant short supply. For whatever reason the staff did not seem able to keep up with demand. I should say that we mentioned our problems with the noisy AC upon departure and the hotel has added extra points to my IHG account, but we did feel that our stay at a hotel chain which is normally good was poor on a number of fronts in this case. 23 February 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by View of a smoking shelter Travel 300 miles to an hotel and get a view and noise of the back of (3 feet away) a smoking shelter. Don't stay on the ground floor at the back. Otherwise hotel OK and staff very good. Beds very comfortable. 19 February 2015
