Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nightmare At Holiday Inn Express Markham We made a reservation for an Employee to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Markham from December 5th to 9th. The reservation was made on the Company Credit Card. Late on Sunday afternoon our Employee was approached by Hotel Staff advising him that he must vacate the premises and if he doesn't do so immediately the police will be called. This apparently was due to no valid credit card signed form on record at the Hotel for the Company Credit Card. The Employee offered his own credit card which was accepted and no police were called. When we booked the Hotel no one contacted us requesting a form be completed. They had a valid email and phone number but no attempt made to contact management at the Company .... just the threats leveled at the Employee. We did receive a credit card authorization form on Monday am which we completed right away and returned. We were then called requesting a photo copy of the Credit Card holders Drivers License and Credit Card also be forwarded. We refused as this can lead to a breach of personal identity way to easily and shouldn't be required. I mean really, I can purchase almost anything online with a valid Credit Card and NEVER are you asked to provide a copy of the drivers license and credit card. The copy of the CC is fine but not a drivers license. At the end of the day after talking with a manager at the Hotel we were told it is their policy and that is that. No exceptions. WOW! Our Employee left a day early and everyone in our Company has been advised to stay away from the Holiday Inn Express and their gulag like business tactics. In closing I wonder if they will actually publish this review ...... I suspect not and I have just lost 15 minutes of my life I can never regain. 12 December 2014
