I really enjoyed the experience. The room was clean and tidy. Just a bit far from the city center, but had local transport about 10-15 minutes walk away.
Staff, especially Barbra was very helpful with directions and advising us on attractions, and calling taxis.
I would defiantly stay here again.

we got to the hotel at 1030 am and was allowed to check in early.since we were 4 i was surprised to be provided with 2 adjacent rooms! breakfast was tasty and the person in charge made sure we ate well.
front desk people were attentive to our every need!

As long time and loyal club member I choose this hotel for my first trip to Rome. The room felt moldy and dank, the heating/AC did not seem to work so we were constantly opening and closing the window, there were not enough towels, there was not enough sink area space for amenities, there was no closet and only a few hangers on a short exposed rod, the desk was two thin to properly accommodate a laptop, the bed was little more than a stiff board and the pillows lacked support. There was no restaurant, no lobby bar/lounge and getting to either outside of the hotel was a bit of a walk (as weather was rainy). Breakfast was crowded and most items were empty, selection seemed limited. Any transport to/from city or airport require a shuttle and train transfer (or bus) so ease of access was not convenient and very pricy if by taxi. Area around hotel an eyesore as well and not clearly marked. In short, after the first night (following the disappointment of breakfast) it was an easy decision to check out. At this point we were informed that the charge for whole stay was already made and therefore no refund (ie: the receptionist couldn't do anything#. So much for recognition of club members. At this point we checked out anyways and ended up spending the next four nights at another hotel in Rome which sadly ended up costing us quite a bit more. I recognize this is an express Inn but the website did nothing to indicate the level of unhappy surprise we encountered and that I have not encountered when staying at Inn's before. Generally speaking, my first trip to Rome was not a pleasant one due to this and for that my loyalty to IHG (an almost 20 yr member!!!!# is shaken. I cannot believe I did not receive a refund nor was contacted by customer service when I checked out only 16 hrs after checking in for a 5 night stay. Baffling.
On a positive note, the people at this hotel were very friendly, courteous and polite. I have no reservations about the treatment by the staff whilst I was there. In addition, for those looking for a nice meal, there was a lovely restaurant a few blocks away that reception can guide you too. We did this on the night of check in and it was the one bright spot in our stay #but again, did not enjoy having to walk in the rain just to get a meal#.
In short, I will not be starting with IHG sites when traveling in the future as even as I write this #now 2 weeks later) I have not been approached by a rewards club service member. I can appreciate a bad turn of events but how hard would it have been to refund my payment and call this a one off? Just disappointing.
