Rooms and Walkways are small, narrow and shabby.
This property needs an upgrade. Parking is extra and parking spaces are not suited for bigger cars.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MissLynn09 Okay stay.
The positives are the laundry room, free breakfast and pool. The negatives are the construction being done, slow, slow, slow elevators, and shower curtain was bad. The area was okay...many homeless people.

Holiday Inn has made great strides in upgrading their properties to make them a hotel of choice. I prefer to, and frequently stay with, Holiday Inn/IHG in my many business travels. I perfer IHG for personal trips, too.
You won't be disappointed.

I stayed hotel to attend a conference at the Convention center. The hotel is in nice location but not very close to convention center. Overall experience with this hotel was not bad.

Place has been completely transformed from a couple years ago. Rooms have been fully renovated with new A/C units, modern comfortable decor, comfortable beds, and comfortable pillows (both firm and soft). very friendly staff, much more so than most places. Very relaxing.

We visited San Diego for our nephew's graduation from UCSD. We chose this location because it was close to downtown, Waterfront Park and the Gaslamp District. The amenities were excellent and the service was terrific.

I was unpleasantly surprised when I got to the hotel and renovations (NOTE: to the EXTERIOR) that were supposed to be completed by the end of May were still going on (first week of June). It was a work trip and too much of a pain to switch so I stayed. I arrived early and the hotel staff was extremely accommodating and got me into a room a bit early. Very friendly and very customer-oriented. Cons: To say parking is tight, especially at $16 a day, would be an understatement. I almost hyperventilated every time I entered the garage because I was afraid I was going to scrape the rental on the wall or columns. Of note, this is a monthly parking garage as well. Much to my surprise on my very first day there, a Jeep pulled over, driver got out, and proceeded to urinate on the ramp in the garage. Great first impression. I was completely deflated by the time I got to my hotel floor. Although the website says renovations completed in 2015, I'm not quite sure to what. There is NO way the walls and carpets have been updated since at least early 2000 (and I'm being generous). The rooms were by far the worst HIE rooms I have ever stayed in. They haven't been updated in well over a decade as well, though they do attempt to compensate for that with a huge flat screen and a fridge (nice addition). The carpet is dingy, the bathroom is laughable (I could hardly go in and close the door...and I'm not a big person...to even be able to turn around and use the toilet. TINY!), but the bed is pretty comfortable. So, I guess if you look at it from a necessity standpoint, it covers the bases. If you're looking for any standard IHG quality, keep on looking.
