Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mostly good The room was good and for an inner city hotel quiet and up to the usual HIX standard. The front of house staff were generally helpful and pleasant but the level of English of the the breakfast room staff was very weak. The breakfast choices were poor and I believe need to be reviewed. I have stayed here before and the breakfast choices are still not satisfying. As this is the main meal of the day available in the hotel it is important they get this right. 26 July 2013

Could use a couple extra English TV Stations. Lots of restaurants in area & a couple of fruit stands within a 5 minute walk. About a 10 minute, 20 RMB Taxi ride to Border crossing. 13 July 2013

Refined sugar needed for coffee and tea instead of the coarse sugar which does not dissolve well in the hot beverages. 3. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good service but improvements needed on lunch/ dinner offerings Choices are very limited (same menu for lunch and dinner) but what the 2 most obvious improvements needed includes 1) food takes too long to be served. When I visited on the 1st, 2nd and 4th time, I had to wait 30 mins for a chicken set, spaghetti, etc. I was told the sandwich set will take that long as well. This is unacceptable when there is practically no other customers. 2) food are "not available". there is probably around 10+ options on the menus but on my 3rd visit, practically half are not available! This is inconvenient when I need a really quick dinner at the hotel and do not want to walk out for meals. I notice very few patrons to the restaurant during lunch/ dinner times but with the lack of options and long time taken to serve a simple sandwich or spaghetti meal, does the restaurant staff expects visitors to even return for the next dinner? I stayed 5 nights (Jun-28-30, Jul4-5) and had dinners for the first 4 days. On the last evening, I decided its better to go out to the nearby Macdonald's where there are faster and better options. I suggest the hotel management can consider leasing out the restaurant to interested parties to provide better lunch/ dinner services. Honestly, by current standards, I hope the hotel is aware why there is practically no lunch/ dinner patrons. (at least during my stay) 07 July 2013

Cleanliness of cutlery and plates have to be more stingently controlled - i.e. dirty chopsticks, dried food etc stuck on to glasses and plates. 26 June 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 整体可以 但是服务有待提高 6月6日从北京飞深圳去办事,由于飞机时间较晚所以要接近晚上11点才能到深圳,我一路打洲际客服电话,得到的答案都是没有客房,但是我直接打这家酒店前台说是有客房的!不知道是不是信息有点不一致啊。由于我到的时间较晚酒店前台说无法帮我预留到那个时间,提供信用卡担保也不行!而且前台的女孩在电话里也不够尊重客人,说不能信用卡担保后居然直接挂电话!怎么也该说一句“请问您还有什么需求”这样的话吧,弄的我都有点措手不及。最后我到了酒店再次询问前台(这次换男的了)一开始说没有客房,我说打电话里说有的啊,然后才说有一间可以入住。 其实酒店整体还是不错的,位置、整洁程度、价位都算可以,只是希望酒店自身和洲际客服的信息能保持一致,前台的态度能再好一点,有空房信息能及时提供就更好了。一个好的酒店集团一定是能在细节上做的够好,希望洲际能越来越好。 17 June 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Will Stay Again This is my 3rd stay at this location this year, average 3 nights per stay. The location is a bit off site but not too bad. Rooms are not as big as the US brand but good enough. I like the lighting, pillows, free bottle water, free & stable Internet access, enough English TV channels including CNN, BBC, MTV, and HBO. Comfortable desk and lighting for work. Bed is also good for sleep. Hot water and water pressure is a big PLUS. The free breakfast is a bit boring, same stuff everyday. I wish there is more variety because after Day 1, I don't want the same thing for Day 2, and Day 3. Quality is good and it is free (I shouldn't complain). If the breakfast is more tasteful, I could eat everyday. So there are two ways for improvement. Easy to find a Taxi (park at front door), 2 km from the train station to Guangzhou, 1 hr to Hong Kong Airport, and also 10 min walk to Subway are good for traveling. I will be back again, but not for the breakfast. 30 May 2013

While there are a couple of staff members at reception who can communicate in English & are helpful, most cannot & are not. The "Business Center" does not have a working printer. Staff will claim that it cannot scan documents but in fact the Reservation office can & will do this but the Reception staff must be pressed to do it. Perhaps they have become too successful & feel that they do not have to work as hard any longer to keep guests returning. 16 April 2013
