Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel with incompetent staff The check in process was terrible at this location. The staff were confused and could not figure out my reservation. It took fifteen minutes to check in. Also I had called days before to request a crib in my room but the staff had no information on this. I had planned to stay at this hotel on my way back thru this area but ended up canceling after getting frustrated with the staff. As I was checking out I was trying to confirm the info on my next reservation a week later. The woman at the desk could not even read the computer system properly. I had a reservation with two rooms under one reservation and she insisted I only had one room booked. She turned the computer to show it to me and I had to explain how to read it to her. Also there was no recognition what so ever of my platinum status at the hotel. I have never had that happen at any other location. The staff seem to be confused and it was very unorganized. I was disappointed with my experience at this location. 16 August 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mediocre Nice room upgrade at check-in ; dated room furnishings. The breakfast space was too small for the number of people and the food was only average.,.. I keep hoping for local touches of creativity and flair to the corporate fare!!! poor drainage in a/c unit lead to musty smell in room!! Lousy shuttle experience here!!!! If you have time constraints, best not to rely on provided shuttle service...And I hate the pillows!!!! lol 14 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hallways and elevators as playgrounds The nights I stayed at HIE in Springfield, VA...there were children that were playing in the hallways, and elevators even late at night. Needless to say, I can't sleep early hearing playing children... 14 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, clean room The appearance of the room is nice and recently renovated. I would prefer carpet throughout instead of tile near the door but that's just me. The bed was very comfortable. Other than people letting their doors bang shut in the hallway, I had a very peaceful stay and sleep. 13 August 2014

But what made the biggest difference for me was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. They provided a shuttle anytime requested. They printed directions and accommodated requests for any incidentals needed. Excellent staff! 09 August 2014

I stay in this hotel an average of 3 times a month, and I love the location, and the fact that the staff recognize me when I arrive. I have received upgrades almost all my stays in this Hotel. The shuttle service is available as of 7 AM and the metro is within 5minutes. I have stayed for pleasure as well as for business. 09 August 2014
