Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Car Parking Cannot remember Hotel Manager's name but I wanted to ensure that the problem I encountered on arrival is not repeated as an inconvenience to others or myself on any future visit. Frustrated trying to find a parking place around hotel because of inconsiderate and selfish parking by other drivers, presumably other hotel clients. The problem would be alleviated if they did not occupy two parking places, i.e. parking centrally over the white parking space dividing line! Mentioned this to the Manager of the hotel and said he would see to this (do not know how as the cars, five in all, were still occupying the spaces several hours later)? Please can Holiday Inn Express amend their policy to "police" this unsociable malpractice or, better still, as I advocated to the Manager on leaving, re-layout the parking lots in a fashion like the COSTCO supermarkets now appearing in the UK where they use generous dividers so people would be less likely to encroach on two spaces rather than one and only one space!! Would be interested to know if Holiday Inn Express have any plans to improve this situation, like signage for clients to exercise considerate parking would be a start!? I have written this review as this problem was mentioned to the Manager on my previous 2-day visit 31 July 2014 to 1 August 2014. Obviously it has not been heeded when I mentioned this on my first visit!? I enjoyed my stay with my family at the Hotel for an associated visit to Alton Towers Resort apart from the parking issue. I know this is a sensitive subject as I understand the hotel needs to operate as a business without compromising trade. Would very much appreciate your feedback on this subject. 15 November 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by excellent front desk only issue was needed some food in the evening and the onsite harvester was not recommended. Too lengthy queues and iffy food. Directed to anothe pub which was ok, but dirty and four miles away. Staff v helpful with directions etc. Breakfast strange choice. 3 hot items, sausages, scrambled egg and baked beans, which don't really go with each oter. Slept poorly- not hotel fault.ate too much and was uncomfortable because of it. 14 November 2014
