Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by staff need training While the location is great (just down the street from Busch Gardens) and the physical condition and cleanliness of the facility were nice, we had a bad experience from the Hotel with ticketing for Busch Gardens/Adventure Island. the Hotel advertises package deals for the stay and tickets to Busch Gardens AND Adventure Island. I also purchased additional tickets from the front desk employee for Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. The advertised package describes the tickets for use at both parks and the additional tickets purchased were for both parks. I clearly communicated that these tickets were for both parks and the front desk employee confirmed that they were. Not feeling sure, I asked again later that same night. Again I was told the tickets were for both parks. Imagine our shock on the attempted second day of use at Adventure Island (first day was at Busch Gardens)when the staff there said "these tickets are not usable here". I explained the situation and they replied, after asking what hotel sold me these tickets, "oh, we've had the same problem with that hotel before" !!! However, the Adventure Island staff worked with me but still charged me for an "upgrade" to gain admission. Mr Manager of the Hotel: are you reading this? and are you going to correct this problem? the next day from home, I called the Hotel clerk and explained the situation and she worked with me to credit my charge the amount additional I had to pay at Adventure Island. For this she gets credit for understanding and giving me customer service. But not the Manager and the other employees there. For those considering getting a package deal for the Hotel and the parks: beware! 13 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Location, Location, Location - great service and helpful staff Stayed July 28 and 29, 2013; one adult, three teenage grandsons; - Purpose, Busch and MOSI - The location of the facility in relation to Busch and MOSI is perfect as well as the proximity of a variety of resturants. The staff demonstrated a positive, helpful, and knowledgable attitude with a friendly smile and eye contact. The pool location, and in our case the room location, allowed the viewing of the Busch firework display each evening. A special thank you to Rolando, the facility shuttle driver, that makes you feel like you are getting a ride to the park from a family member. The cost of the per night stay when compared with staff, service, and amenities is an excellent value. Thanks for a wonderful stay. 05 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful experience!!!! Everything about our stay was PERFECT!!! Upon check-in, the staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. After spending the afternoon at Busch Gardens, we came back to our room and enjoyed the Jacuzzi, watching the fireworks from the comfort of our room. Breakfast the next day was good with lots of choices. The staff tending the breakfast were friendly and helpful and right on top of keeping everything freshly stocked and hot! I will recommend this hotel to EVERYONE and we will be back!! 02 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location to Busch Gardens and helpful staff The location was excellent proximity to Busch Gardens and the shuttle was an additional perk. I booked a standard room and was given a King room for the 3 of us. They provided a roll away bed which is a twin bed The room was sufficient size to add the extra bed, however it was not very comfortable as the springs could be felt. The air conditioner was very loud in our room the first night because it was turning off and on. The second night we turned the thermostat down to 68 and it ran consistently and was much quieter allowing us to sleep. Ask for a even numbered room if visiting prior to Aug 18 and you can view the fireworks over Busch Gardens from your room. The employees were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was very quiet although we could hear some external noises such as sirens in the room. I was not overwhelmed with the breakfast but it was nice that there were more choices than just a continental breakfast. The coffee maker in our room was only a 4 cup and lacked a carafe. However, we were able to obtain coffee downstairs during breakfast. Olive Garden and Popeye's next door. 01 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great breakfast and shuttle handy. We enjoyed our stay at Tampa Holiday Inn Express. The hotel was clean and well appointed. We had two clean rooms with plenty of soft towels, lots of comfy pillows, and comfortable beds. We saw the fireworks from our window as we entered. What a welcome. We did not get to use the beautiful pool, but the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The shuttle to Busch Gardens and back to the Holiday Inn Express was a plus. 01 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff are nice and courteous I think this is what Holiday Inn is known for. The staff are nice and very understanding. This is the first time though that the room given to us was warm. We set the a/c to 60 degrees and it felt like 79. The faucet in the bathroom was very weak. We were not given a towel to step on after showering. It would also be nice to have some breakfast food variations. Other than these minor stuff, we will still stay in any Holiday Inn hotel. 01 August 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bush Gardens Pkg. We got a pleasend stay at the Hotel. The room was large and nice with a good view at Bush Gardens to enjoy the firework. The shuttle service from the Hotel to Bush Gardens was very good. Special thanks to the Driver Sam and Ronaldo for the nice driving and information. Also is the Hotel very close (walking distance) to Olive Garden and Red Lobster, so that we not have used our car for three days. When we will visit Bush Gardens again, that Hotel we be our first choice. 24 July 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Decent hotel for price and location We stayed for 5 days in July and the room was not a true suite like we have had at other Holiday Inns. It was just a larger room with a pull-out couch that was so uncomfortable we had to ask for a rollaway bed. The cleaning staff must have been short on towels because we were never given the correct number of towels. We always had to go downstairs to get more towels. We got stuck in the elevator on our last full day and it had not been fixed by the time we left the next morning. When we pressed the call button in the elevator the front desk attendant answered and we told her we were stuck. She then said "just a minute" and we never heard anything else. We finally pressed the alarm button and the doors opened. Good thing we don't panic easily! The best part of the hotel was the free breakfast buffet. It was mostly the same items each day, but there was a pretty good variety from pancakes, to eggs, cinnamon rolls, etc. The breakfast staff were very helpful and extremely friendly! 22 July 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good hotel service is friendly, especially the Shuttle drivers went out of their way to accommodate us. Even tho there are 4 floors, we waited a long time for elevators b/c one of them was out of service. The continental breakfast choices are very limited - no muffins or croissants. The fitness room is a joke. The thermostats in the rooms are out of kilter, We had to set them at 68 to get cold air. All in all, a good hotel for the value, would stay there again. 21 July 2013

NOTE: If you are going to Busch Gardens, which we were, because of the location of the front gate, the walk is about a mile not half mile, as you have to walk down to the parking lot to get in, and then all the way back to almost where you started to reach the entrance to the park. The hotel does run free transportation, but the bus does NOT run between 1pm and 4pm Also of note: It seems the a/c is monitored by some type of motion detector, so it shuts off if you're not there, so when you come in it's really hot and at night I had to keep adjusting it to stay cool.. 10 July 2013

I didn't caught the name of the young lady that work the desk she was an African America lady, very helpful and excellent customer services. Also the guy Rolando that drove the shuttle bus was very excellent and preform very good customer services skills. I had no bad experience my whole stay there. 04 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by June 23-28 2013 Where to start, the hotel was really nice. The general manager greeted the guest every morning, the shuttle driver was extremely patient and accommodating. We were going from the water park to busch gardens and he would pick us up. I received excellent customer service from the black girl at the desk. Cons There was an odor upon entering the hotel. In our room 232 there was an odor from the refrigerator area that smelled like a dump truck. On that Tuesday the house keeper came upstairs with febreeze and they wanted to down grade us to a smaller room. I waited until the morning to speak with the front desk, then we were upgraded to a presidential suite. Overall I enjoyed the hotel. It was clean. 04 July 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LOBBY I did enjoy my stay in this hotel. However, i would suggest something to be done on the odor that is in the lobby area. Ironically it is only in that area. It gives a bad impression, and it leaves you in doubt in how the room will be. In all reality, the room was very nice. Just as they say... first impressions do count. 28 June 2013

The room we stayed had a very noisy air conditioner which made us not able to sleep well. Breakfast had a good variaty of foods. Stayed only for 1 night. Would only return if assured air conditioner is silent. 23 June 2013
