Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Free transportation My wife and I stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Tampa and it was a great choice, Mike the transport driver was great and very informative. Leon checked us in and was also great and helpful, including our discounts. The hotel was within walking distance to Steinbrenner Field, home of the New York Yankees spring training and Raymond James Stadium, home of The Tampa Buccaneers. Also, not far was the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. A 24 hour restaurant is about 500 yards away or less. Dropping off the rental car was both easy and efficient .I would recommend anyone going to spring training to stay at this hotel , the hoy tub was nice but the pool was too cool for me. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by First time for everything Why must there be a first time for EVERYTHING. We arrived at 2 P.M. at this hotel. I have stayed here before for business but this time, we were in town for a wake and funeral of a close family member. We needed the room to change as we had to drive a distance. We were told "check in is at 3 P.M. They would not check us in until 3. They (two men) stated they could not take a chance that the room would be dirty. We asked if housekeeping kept them advised of which rooms were clean as they finished. We were told they could not check us in until 3. So at 3, all dirty rooms were going to be magically clean. They talked between them in Spanish so I do not know their response.I asked for a manager and was told, she had gone home and none were available.We had to change in the public restrooms as the wake was already proceeding. We did not get back until 8 P.M. and a manager was still not available. The night person was very apologetic and did not seem to understand why the day crew did what they did. In the morning, we needed to leave for the funeral and were not in the mood to find a manager. If this is the level of employee and the way the management runs this place, run, don't walk away from this place. 24 February 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As good as it gets. One thing I forgot to mention in this survey. We DID encounter a problem in the bathroom. The tub stopper was broken and we did not realize it until the morning when my wife went to take a bath. She had to improvise using a wash cloth to get enough water to stay in the tub for her bath. When I told the front desk clerk about this as we were checking out (as I thought they should know about this problem), she immediately and without hesitation took $20 off our bill. Now that is what I call SERVICE!!! 22 February 2015
