Even had a window that opened to let the night air in. Good breakfast for an extended period of time so coffee first breakfast later in the AM. Staff extremely friendly. 16 January 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay We stayed here for our trip to Joshua Tree National park. The hotel is an excellent choice, it exceeds our expectation in many regards. The owner of the hotel added several "upgrades" at this location compared to other Holiday Inn Expresses. For example, they have fresh made popcorn and ice tea serving in the lobby until late evening. They have hot and cold hand towels available to guests upon check-in. They have an automatic shoe cleaner in the lobby for you to remove dusts from hikes at the national park. The staff is also great here. It was a crowded weekend, and when we checked out, Mona made sure to ask us if we had breakfast (since there was a big crowd), and let us know some more fresh is coming. It was very nice of her. I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Expresses and I can honestly say this one is the best of them. 08 January 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel, but understaffed As expected from an HIExpress, the room was well kept and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the overall stay was comfortable. However, there were two issues. One, the breakfast area was severely undermanned. There was one person supporting the area on a busy holiday weekend, and it was not nearly enough. Two, there was one person at the front desk on Friday night when numerous guests were arriving. She was very friendly, but I had to wait too long before getting my room key. At a lower cost motel, I expect 1 person at the check in desk, but for the price of an HIE, I expect the management to monitor the front desk workload, and compensate to ensure guests are served in a timely manner. 06 January 2015
