A very drab, dull and boring hotel. Breakfast was poor. Not good value for money.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by caithness girl Clean and bright room, excellent service
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay with my three adult children. Our only little complaint is that the bed settee was not the most comfortable and the breakfast scrambled egg and sausage not very nice, my Son wished there had been bacon too. But otherwise excellent variety or cereals, juices, croissants etc. Overall though, highly recommended and I would stay again.. Thank you

We have stayed at this hotel many times and again we were not disappointed. Friendly staff and comfortable room which was clean and up to date.
Hotel amenities good with a breakfast included in the price.
Excellent stay and will stay again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Debbie2009 excellent location, comfortable and clean
Hotel location is within walking distance of train station. No need for taxis, buses at road end go all over city. Shops and restaurants within 2 mins walk but street of hotel quiet;. ideal location

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rosstofarian Booked for location
Booked because it was close to my meeting venue the following morning.
All was clean, staff were nice which are both critical.
My gripes are:
WIFI was rubbish, kept dropping out which is no good for working
Price was high - guess this is just Aberdeen being expensive.
"Ironing Room" is a terrible idea. One little box room, miniature ironing board and an iron that you can't easily fill up with water.
Just put an iron in each room, most other hotels seem to manage it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by London_Scot Comfortable hotel in poor location
The street outside the hotel is very noisy overnight so try to get a room at the rear.
Parking is EXTREMELY limited.
Despite these negatives, the staff were very friendly and helpful

I accept the hotel is busy but the only things that marred an excellent stay were the bar and breakfast choices.

Stayed two separate weekends. Hotel is located in City centre, managed to park the car at the hotel car park both weekends-possibly lucky in that respect.
Room is not spacious but is adequate-just what was required as we were out during the day and night-only required for restful sleep-we were not disappointed.
Although breakfast is limited it was plentiful and choice met my requirements.
Would I stay in this hotel again-definitely-great value for money.
Staff very cheerful and accommodating-girl at the breakfast area was immense-never stopped working looking after everyone's needs.

Erin was the best staff member. Jessica was also cheerful, she did not have to assist me at any time. During my stay, the other two women, they checked me in

Well worth the visit to Aberdeen, Holiday Inn Express was a great choice for a short break to the city, it is well situated just off Union Street and well placed for lots of lovely eating and drinking places.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wendy1957 Nice hotel with great service
This hotel is in an excellent location just off Union Street and close to all the local amenities. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom well laid out. There was plenty to eat at breakfast and a nice bar to relax in in the evenings but the best thing about this hotel is the staff. From check in to check out you are greeted by happy, smiling faces and nothing is too much trouble. I enjoy coming back to this hotel again and again and would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Aberdeen. It's excellent value for money.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Happy Face Saturday night stay
Had stayed here previously and were allocated a room at back of hotel, we were pleased with our room and booked our next stay. On this second visit we were allocated a room at front of hotel overlooking Chapel Street. It was a complete disaster!!! About midnight the noise started and continued till around five o'clock in the morning. People were shouting and screaming at the top of their voices and despite being on third floor we could clearly hear every word or profanity that was said. Apparently there is a nightclub just along from the hotel, a baker's shop directly opposite hotel which remains open all night to feed the revellers and a taxi rank at end of road where people queue up for taxis. Avoid staying here in a room at front of hotel on a Saturday night at all costs.

We were visiting my daughter who stays in Aberdeen. This hotel was very central. The staff were all very helpful and the room was very comfortable for the price. We would certainly use the hotel again only down side was the limited parking.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by greekofile Basic accommodation in central Aberdeen
We were looking for budget accommodation to meet up with friends in Aberdeen and the holiday Inn was fine for this. The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms small and pretty basic but ok for a night. There were several noisy groups in the hotel and there was a lot of noise from the street into the early hours - the receptionist told us this was because of an all-night bakery opposite so best to request inside rooms if you want to sleep well. As with all Holiday Inns, the breakfast is free therefore not high quality - the hot food selection is sausages, beans and reconstituted scrambled egg.
In the end, you get what you pay for!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dragonstayer Great place to stay
We always stay here when in Aberdeen, good price, clean rooms, pleasant staff and near everywhere we go/visit! The reason I've given only a 3* for sleep quality is because we find the beds too soft and very, very bouncy!! When one of us turns over the other one gets seasick lol....still consider it the best Aberdeen hotel for an over-nighter tho!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Linda124 Good location, very helpful staff.
This Holiday Inn is ideally located. It is within easy walking distance of the main shopping areas in Aberdeen and close to lots of restaurants. The room I had was clean and comfortable if a little tired.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and could not have been nicer really.
Breakfast provides plenty of choice and even has a hot option which is unusual in this type of hotel.
I always stay here when I'm in Aberdeen and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JimmyTheJock A relatively pleasant 4-nights stay
I stayed at this property for 4 nights starting on a Saturday and found it a pleasant conveniently located hotel with friendly helpful staff.
Fortunately I did not have a car with me as parking spaces are somewhat limited but it is only a few steps from the main streets of Aberdeen with a good selection of restaurants and watering holes within a short distance.
On my first evening a party was just getting going in the room next door and even though it was still relatively early and the celebrations would no doubt have diminished with time I was on request and without question allocated another room.
The complimentary hot breakfast features baked beans, sausages and scrambled egg, albeit in a blind tasting I suspect one would have great difficulty in identifying the latter. The bread and the jams are I suspect sourced on cost rather than quality, however, the cereals, fruit, etc., were of acceptable quality.
When I checked in and as a platinum member of IHG Rewards Club I was given a voucher for a complimentary drink along with which I could also enjoy potato crisps, peanuts or a chocolate bar. A nice touch!
Sadly the cleanliness of the furniture in my room did little to convince me that housekeeping are up to the job; the condition of the sofa-bed was frankly very poor and somewhat spoiled my otherwise good impression of this property, In addition the room carpet would clearly benefit from a good clean.
Despite these issues I would still recommend this hotel as a place to stay for anyone visiting Aberdeen but management do need to up their game a bit and get on top a number of issues before it could come anywhere near getting an 'excellent' rating.

Stayed at HIX Aberdeen City Centre 28th Feb-2nd March. Good location just 100 metres from Union Street. Hotel was clean and comfy. Staff were very helpful. Great free breakfast selection. Platinum status was recognised at check in. Good variety of nearby restaurants within 5 minute walk of the hotel. Would stay here if visiting Aberdeen in the future. Keep up the good work..
