Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Express Chapel Street Aberdeen Great service from Erin the receptionist , I forgot to book and they really pulled out all the stops to find me a room, I'm lucky that I stay here often and always find the team friendly and helpful! May 25, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Basic accommodation in central Aberdeen We were looking for budget accommodation to meet up with friends in Aberdeen and the holiday Inn was fine for this. The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms small and pretty basic but ok for a night. There were several noisy groups in the hotel and there was a lot of noise from the street into the early hours - the receptionist told us this was because of an all-night bakery opposite so best to request inside rooms if you want to sleep well. As with all Holiday Inns, the breakfast is free therefore not high quality - the hot food selection is sausages, beans and reconstituted scrambled egg. In the end, you get what you pay for! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 geat staff and a lovely clean place . another great stay at this hotel would highly recommend it to anybody the staff are very friendly and helpfull . May 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay We always stay here when in Aberdeen, good price, clean rooms, pleasant staff and near everywhere we go/visit! The reason I've given only a 3* for sleep quality is because we find the beds too soft and very, very bouncy!! When one of us turns over the other one gets seasick lol....still consider it the best Aberdeen hotel for an over-nighter tho! May 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great showers very clean. Staff very welcoming would definatley use this hotel again . Great choice for breakfast May 7, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Experience I have stayed 6 times recently in the hotel. The reception staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, with all you need for a short stay. Convenient location for city and surrounding area, with plently of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. May 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel location Good location for the hotel, just off Union Street and quite central. Hotel was clean, neat and tidy. Staff friendly and well dressed. Room comfortable and very clean. Hot free breakfast available after 6.30 am but cerials etc available before that. April 25, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Avarage hotel Good location in city centre. Nothing special. No restaurant. April 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal Location Choose this hotel for location which was ideal as I wanted to revisit Aberdeen Good choice of menue for breakfast & had no problems finding seats Sofa bed wasn't as comfortable as the Inverness branch but we did have slightly more room April 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good location, very helpful staff. This Holiday Inn is ideally located. It is within easy walking distance of the main shopping areas in Aberdeen and close to lots of restaurants. The room I had was clean and comfortable if a little tired. The staff were very helpful and friendly and could not have been nicer really. Breakfast provides plenty of choice and even has a hot option which is unusual in this type of hotel. I always stay here when I'm in Aberdeen and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. April 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A relatively pleasant 4-nights stay I stayed at this property for 4 nights starting on a Saturday and found it a pleasant conveniently located hotel with friendly helpful staff. Fortunately I did not have a car with me as parking spaces are somewhat limited but it is only a few steps from the main streets of Aberdeen with a good selection of restaurants and watering holes within a short distance. On my first evening a party was just getting going in the room next door and even though it was still relatively early and the celebrations would no doubt have diminished with time I was on request and without question allocated another room. The complimentary hot breakfast features baked beans, sausages and scrambled egg, albeit in a blind tasting I suspect one would have great difficulty in identifying the latter. The bread and the jams are I suspect sourced on cost rather than quality, however, the cereals, fruit, etc., were of acceptable quality. When I checked in and as a platinum member of IHG Rewards Club I was given a voucher for a complimentary drink along with which I could also enjoy potato crisps, peanuts or a chocolate bar. A nice touch! Sadly the cleanliness of the furniture in my room did little to convince me that housekeeping are up to the job; the condition of the sofa-bed was frankly very poor and somewhat spoiled my otherwise good impression of this property, In addition the room carpet would clearly benefit from a good clean. Despite these issues I would still recommend this hotel as a place to stay for anyone visiting Aberdeen but management do need to up their game a bit and get on top a number of issues before it could come anywhere near getting an 'excellent' rating. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by HIE Aberdeen Room not up to the usual standard I expect, very badly stained carpet and nasty smell, the team were excellent as normal however certain rooms need work. March 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Staff were polite and helpful at all times of the day and night. Room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent, great variety and well stocked. Unfortunately not very much no site parking. Easy walk to shopping. Would definitely stay again and recommend. March 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Stayed at HIX Aberdeen City Centre 28th Feb-2nd March. Good location just 100 metres from Union Street. Hotel was clean and comfy. Staff were very helpful. Great free breakfast selection. Platinum status was recognised at check in. Good variety of nearby restaurants within 5 minute walk of the hotel. Would stay here if visiting Aberdeen in the future. Keep up the good work.. March 8, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by staff very helpfull and freindly had brill time stayed two days great value for money would defo go back thanks again three glasgow girls x February 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Night out in Aberdeen Easily found, very central can access all of central Aberdeen within about 10 minutes walk. Hotel does what the brand promises. Clean room & general facilities, comfortable bed, good shower, reasonable size room, good basic channels on TV & a decent continental breakfast with the options of scrambled eggs & sausages if you want a hot breakfast. Cons: miniscule car park, there is a big multi-storey at the end of the street (which is ok if you turn up in the evening & leave before 8am, but if you want to leave your car there all day can get quite expensive. Surely the Hotel group can strike a deal for better parking. As with all central Aberdeen hotels normally quite expensive during the week, however I was lucky to get a special festive deal so was very happy. Typical Holiday Inn Express January 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mattress the first night we found out the mattress was too old and the springs had gone soft. After complaining at the desk next day it got solved by placing a board underneath the mattress. This did solve the problem of a sore back slightly but I would advise to replace mattresses with newer ones that give proper support. The ones we had in Glasgow theater Holiday Inn express were much better. The staff tried to solve it as well as they could though. kind regards January 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing hotel !! Perfect location, great hotel, lovely staff, can't rate highly enough, looking forward to next visit January 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Memorable stay ! Just returned from this hotel after a memorable Hogmanay experience at the Stonehaven Fireballs Ceremony. The hotel is a clone of any Holiday Inn express, but the room especially the bathroom spotlessly clean , no sign of mildew ( a thing I hate) . Nice modern breakfast room with adequate choices. Where this hotel excels is the very helpful staff. Nice chat from the girls on reception, and very obliging male staff who unlocked the car park at past one in the morning on New Year's Eve to let us park in the complimentary car park. The car park is very small but we always managed to squeeze our little hire car in there. We had a fantastic experience at Stonehaven which was a 25 min drive away. There is also a bus that runs from Aberdeen to Stonehaven on Hogmanay if you don't want to drive. Thanks HIE your staff are lovely we will certainly recommend you to others !!! January 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal location This hotel is well placed for shopping and visiting Union Street, Aberdeen. The staff were helpful and made us very welcome. Breakfast was plentiful with a good variety of dishes. January 2, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent all round We arrived in Chapel Street early as we had just come off the Northlink Ferry and found the staff very friendly and helpful .They allowed us to leave our luggage as we could not book in until later and also offered us to sit in the lounge area if required . We cant give this Hotel and the staff enough praise ,everything and all staff was excellent , we have been before and will certainly come back again if we ever come to Aberdeen .Thank you to all the staff. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by central location noisy room decent breakfast Nice enough room , immaculately clean, pretty noisy, brilliant showerdecent breakfast . I found the receptionist who checked us in exceptionaly stern boardering on rude, I actually couldn't look her in the eye by the time I left to find the room, she didn't crack a smile once and was certainly not friendly or welcoming, I think her name was Christine. The other receptionist was more approachable. December 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable and great location We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel with a breakfast to keep us going until well into the afternoon. The only down side is the hotel only has 10 free parking spaces which were never available and we had to use the multi storey car park, very local, at £1.00 per hour which can become pricey if your staying for a while. It would be great if Holiday Inn Express could negotiate a deal with the parking company for guests staying at the hotel. However this was the only downside to staying at this hotel as the location to Union Street was only a 2 minute walk. December 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Peter's Views. Hi, My name is Peter. I was spending a couple of night here with my family, I found everything spot on especially help from staff, Nothing was too much trouble, This was my second stay here as I was impressed by my first stay the previous time if that makes sense. lol I would say the only down side is for folk with cars, The Hotel car park is very restricted on spaces, If I mind there were about eleven spots so it is first come first served, Having said that, The car park security is 100% and there is a public car park just two minuets walk from the Hotel, Its a bit of a pain popping up to top up ones parking tickets and keeping an eye on the expiry time. The Hotel is just one minuets walk from the Main Street in Aberdeen. 100% Ideal for all of Aberdeen's amenities. Food. Well what can I say about that, Breakfast is a self services from 6.30 am to 9.30 am with choices for everyone just about across the board also I noticed for the late comer there was NO hassle to get them out of the breakfast room and some were still enjoying there fare at 10am which for me is a big plus, I would just like to add this not to do with the hotel but I think enhances ones visit, Across the street is a small bakers, There food is to die for and it is open all day & night just about. :-) It was a great place to stay and I will be back on my next visit to Aberdeen. Peter. :-) December 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff Member Worthy of Mension Justin (Reception) was most helpful finding us a place to eat. Not only did he find us a place to eat but made a reservation for us. The restaurant was very good an excelent recommendation. December 12, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Generally poor and surprisingly expensive for HI Express This hotel was an overnight stop over for me, during a series of business meetings around the UK. The hotel is centrally located in Aberdeen which is clearly an expensive place to stay due to the oil industry. That said, this hotel was not worth half of the massive huge fee per night I paid to stay there, I have stayed in better accommodation in central London for much less! Being a Holiday Inn Express there was no facility to eat dinner at the hotel, and the bar had the ambience of a morgue. I was advised that a chip shop, kebab shop and lively Weatherspoon's pub was just down the road. During my stay I was accommodated in a disabled room (101# which was sold to me as a benefit due to the increased space, this benefit soon turned into a negative as the room was situated right at the entrance hallway to the rooms and the hallway door #virtually outside of my room) banged and clattered right through the night as patrons entered and exited their rooms. Soundproofing this hotel is non-existent, I could hear the guy next door snoring and farting in his sleep surprisingly clearly. The bathroom of my room was specially modified to aid access by wheelchair bound patrons, which lead to it having a 'wet-room' style shower, but the bathroom was entirely unheated and has a sink so small that I couldn't even get the room kettle into it to make a cup of coffee, never mind shave with any semblance of convenience. Breakfast was appalling, situated in the dismal bar area the hot buffet consisted of a heated terrine of baked beans and some sausages. Toast and reasonable coffee saved my morning but simple things like laying out the order of the buffet correctly would help. Maybe even providing a few knives to butter ones toast would be a cheap and easy attempt to enhance the breakfast experience which was grim. Overall this hotel was generally poor and surprisingly expensive for a Holiday Inn Express. Not recommended. November 30, 2013
