Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and tidy and the buffet breakfast was great for setting you up for the day. Location is good and handy for buses/parking and if you are touring or visiting some of the local visitor attracations. Overall the hotel was excellent. April 15, 2013

Our room was very nice and the Grandchildren enjoyed sleeping in the sofa bed. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast choice was good. April 7, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy and not the happiest hotel in Aberdeen. Our welcome wasn't the friendliest, the staff not very happy looking. On departure we were not asked if we had a good night, an enjoyable atay, have a safe journey.......nothing. What must our forgein visitors think, even if it isn't 5 star accommodation, good manners in customer service should come free. The room was noisy, there was some kind of work station out the back which made continual banging sounds all night, as if it had an airlock. Parking is also a bit of an issue on a Saturday. On the plus side I enjoyed my breakfast.. March 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not again The Holiday Inn Express in Aberdeen city centre is just off Union Street, a good location which is compromised by the bakery oppersite, which opens at 4am and starts the noisy mornings off in grand style. Food and value are rubbish, rooms are tired and badly needing a refit. March 19, 2013

Breakfast has everything you would like eg fresh fruit, jams, rolls, and hot buffett. Free car park but limited spaces. Overall would stay here again. March 18, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice room, shame about the breakfast Room was excellent, providing everything we would expect and it was very clean. However the breakfast was very poor. As I don't like sausages, beans or 'slices' of scrambled egg I didn't get my anticipated cooked breakfast. Where was the bacon, mushrooms or tomatoes? As for the fruit juice, it was so watery as to be undrinkable. Very disappointing. March 10, 2013

The room and bathroom were very clean, beds comfortable, the decor not very modern though. Wifi in the room was great. The breakfast too was good and the dining room and buffet very clean, again. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to usual Holiday Inn Express standards Booked in for two nights - one at usual rates, the other a Reward night. When I checked in and got to my room, I realised that I was only allocated the room for one night, not two. As I didn't want to change rooms, I went back to the reception to ask if I could have the same room for two nights. I felt that this reasonable request was poorly handled, and I was made to feel as though I was causing them considerable inconvenience. Very unfriendly receptionist,leaving a poor impression. Also I think security access should be tightened, as anyone can just walk off the street and access the upper floors without the need for a key card. February 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel, Awful noisy room Stayed on a Sunday Night on Business. Travelled over 9 hours to get theire. Checked in around 9pm and was exhausted, dropped off to sleep around 10. Awoke in the early hours by a horrendous din caused by the whirring noise of the Central Heating extractor fans on a wall outside. As it was 2am I did not feel like re-locating rooms. The noise was horrendous and lasted til daylight. I would not recommend any room around 230/235. The breakfast area was usual Holiday Inn fayre, but very low stocks of everything.. a very average choice indeed. Is in an excellent location (City Centre) but personally wuld stay elsewhere on next visit to this lovely City. February 25, 2013

Found the small selection of hot food a welcome addition but was dissapointed that there were no danish pastries or poppy seed rolls. Staff were all very smart, polite and attentive. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by soft bed poor sleep The pillow choice you get, the bed no choice I found the bed too soft and due to one side collapsing the matress was changed but again very soft, it was like sleeping in a hammock, I was told that there is only soft matresses, otherwise OK for one or two nights city stay due to location and parking. I noticed that when we approached the reception both staff stopped at what they were doing and helped us with our questions. Room was very clean,toilet ,shower with plenty clean towels. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mediocre The Aberdeen Holiday Inn Express is below average in standard and no more. By comparison to the Holiday Inn Express in, say, sloterdijk near Schipol the Aberdeen hotel is actually very very poor. Parking is a really big problem in Aberdeen as a whole but the car park provided by Holiday Inn Express is poor. It is acknowledged that the amount of space available is very restricted but there are always free spaces chained off and rarely used as they are disabled slots. This policy needs to be reviewed. The situation is actually exasperated by the fact there is another private car park immediately adjacent to that belonging to the hotel and is actually only accessible through the hotel car park but the hotel are very vociferous about its unavailabilty to hotel guests. Aberdeen is a strange place insofar as the hotels are able to name their prices depending on whatever oil industry functions are happening at any given time. For such a mediocre hotel the prices are always very inconsistent and can range from something near reasonable to something near extortionate. One plus point is its location in relation to city centre access and proximity to rail station, however on the downside the Aberdeen traffic is very challenging should you be in a car. Overall, hotel not great but is only functional at best. January 16, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great City Centre hotel Really enjoyed our 2 night stay between Christmas and New Year, costing only £20.12 per night in the priority members promotion. Clean and comfortable room, super shower. Requested a quiet room at the rear of hotel which was great. Great breakfast both hot and cold food. Good location in city centre. Only 2 complaints. Its a tiny carpark which fills quick so you have to park in the multi-storey and theres no free wifi in the rooms, its 2013 now and it should be! Would stay here again for sure January 5, 2013

This one is by far the better location, within easy walking distance of Union Street, shops and restaurants. The room was of a high standard, with a larger tv than in any other HI Express that I have stayed at. The only downside is the very small car park- if you have a car you may want to use the Exhibition Centre hotel instead. January 2, 2013

It's location however brings with it my main criticism which is that if you have a room at the front of the property, especially on a Friday night it's VERY noisy. Customers at the local bakers and chip shop are wandering up and down outside the hotel to the very early hours..... and many are pretty noisy indeed! Otherwise no complaints - nice clean rooms, friendly staff and very handy for centre of town. December 3, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Express Chapel St. Have stayed here many times, staff are always pleasant, and remember me, rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, would benefit from heating coming on automatically in winter time as it takes a while to heat up when you enter the room, breakfast has limited variety. Staff make up for this, prices can be expensive compared to other similar hotels in town. November 25, 2012
