Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Texas Train Traveler Comfortable, quiet, and clean
I had 3 room reserved for our party of 7. Check-in was a breeze. Our rooms were great and the breakfast was good. Staff was polite and friendly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CSENM2015 Quiet clean location with great breakfast
The hotel was attractive and clean, but the rooms are dated. The beds we had in our room need to be replaced...they have seen better days. Overall a good experience except for the beds.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mikegardvo Alamogordo Visit
We visited Alamogordo as part of a road trip around SW USA, so stayed 2 nights in October 2015.
The hotel is at the south side of the town, surrounded by a number of other hotels and within easy walking distance of restaurants such as Chilis and Applebees.
The hotel was fairly quiet and we had a view over the car park (the other side of the hotel had a view over the desert).
The main quibbles I had was that the first thing we saw when we arrived was a notice saying there was work going on at the hotel to refurbish it and that inconvenience would be kept to a minimum. It would have been nice to be notified of this in advance. As it was we were not disturbed by any noise. In addition we had asked for a top floor quiet room in every hotel on our road trip. This was the only hotel when we were not on a higher floor but instead given a ground floor room. Also, as an IHG Gold rewards member I thought I might be recognised as such but there was no recognition of this (the following night in Tucson the first thing we got was a welcome as a rewards member).
However, the hotel was clean and tidy and we had good night's sleep both nights. When we checked in we were asked if we were visiting White Sands, which was the main reason for our visit, and offered sledges which we could use. We did take them up on this next morning and enjoyed the sledging.

We usually stay at Holiday Inn Express, Hamptons, AmeriInn where available. Clean rooms and good breakfast. After eight or nine hours on the road what more do you need?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HowlinCoyote Car Show on Halloween
Showed up Friday night before Halloween, had three suites rented out between 9 people. Marcus was extremely helpful and even joined in on giving one of our friends a hard time for driving a slow automatic car (jk, it's not slow, Deep Impact Blue Mustang GTs are the fastest color of the coyote powered cars). On Halloween we stepped out (after a long day of cruising the mountains and enjoying a car show) for a trick or treat event at a local church. My friend had his two kids with him and Marcus was very good with the children, unfortunately there was no candy for him to pass out to the trick or treaters but Marcus made the best of that and was just naturally an excellent front desk attendant. Keep up the good work y'all, hope to see y'all next time!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by watcher 0-0 Do not sell a room with a horrible sofa bed
When booking I particularly asked a room with 3 beds.
Hotel sold me a junior suite room with 2 beds and one sofa bed (pull-out)
Then we found that the pull-out was very old, its springs were sagged horribly. It was just not for use at all.
I make a claim about it to the manager. Nothing happened. Just ignored.
I thought that HIE was a quality motel.
