Nice place to stay. Good cleanliness and rooms are up to date. Hot tub jets must be turned on by a staff member though. Good breakfast for motel standards. Hard to find the entrance though, need better signage.

We stayed at the HIE in Albert Lea 9 days after our first stay. The second stay did not match our first stay's quality. Pros: convenient location, clean. Cons: wifi would not work despite connecting to it, no bath towels in our room (or in other rooms from what we heard the front desk person explain several times--she was finishing them), no towels in pool area, cold pool water, and the advertised pancakes were not available (at least for the first half an hour after which we gave up and went back to our room). Also, having done and advance purchase, it was disappointing to be given the room with a wall next to the elevator shaft. However, the front desk staff member did give us a different room when I asked. There was only one staff member on site, which was too few to handle the phones, front desk, towels, and pancake area, although she was working very hard.

A suite consists of paying more for a short couch, not intended for sleeping on. The Front desk solution is to have you sleep on the floor.....hopefully they gave you extra towel to sleep on, you can always use your luggage for a pillow, since the motel was full we had to split the family and find a room elsewhere. I will never recommend this hotel chain to anyone in the future. We booked 3 rooms for 2 nights. When I tried to go on the website to make a formal complaint there was no way to post a comment. In the future we will be using a different hotel chain in the area.
