Being IHG member I know lots of Holiday Inns and love staying in these hotels. This one has met my expectations. Great service, overall condition of the room and sleep quality. Would recommend to anyone in this area.

this was one of my worst experiences in a HIE. I had no wash cloths in my room and the hand towel was dirty. In the other room that my co-worker was staying in, his pillows smelled like B.O. I am on the road 75-100 days a year and this is one of the worst stays that i have had in a decade.

When we travel, the last thing we need is to worry about how our rooms will feel, or whether the internet will work.
As with ALL HI Express locations, Mid-town in Albuquerque was perfect! Staff was very helpful, food was great, even the coffee wasn't bad!
My expectations are pretty high with Holiday Inn Express, but this stay met or exceeded my expectations. Thanks HI Express!

This was my first poor service for a Holiday Inn Express stay.
The shuttle was parked in a manner that did not allow me to drive up and check-in. The desk clerk was in the lodge area looking at something on a laptop that I believe belonged to the shuttle driver. Once I got to my room it looked like the bed closes to the a/c unit didn't have fresh sheets and the mattress was sagged on the edge which means it was probably 8-10 yrs old. The ceiling paint was pulled away in some areas. I had to go to the car an retreive some things and while in the lobby I saw some cookies on a tray not covered. While outside I saw the desk clerk and asked how long the cookies had been out and he said he didn't know but he had over baked them about 20 mins. I asked if they came with free milk and was told everything was locked up and he didn't have the key.
While he was outside smoking another desk clerk was in the lodge area with the shuttle driver looking at something on the laptop.
When I got back to my room I adjusted the a/c to cool the room down and the unit sounded like I was in a wind tunnel. I ended up sleeping in the 2nd bed away from the a/c unit. It didn't sleep any better but I'm retired AF and have slept in much worst conditions. I've always tried to stay at a Holiday Inn Express becasue of it's excellent service and room conditions. This was the worst and so far has been the exception.

I was traveling through town and just looking for a place to spend the night. Arrived late. Hotel was a bit harder than most to find off the freeway. Area it was in seemed a bit dated, and maybe not as safe as some.
Staff was friendly, and hotel lobby and breakfast area were good. Food selection was a little skimpy compared to most.
Elevators needed updating as did some things in the room. The room was clean, but heating system was the older/louder variety. Beds were average as was the linen. I slept fine, but was dead tired so that does not surprise me.

We stayed in this hotel last 29th of December using my rewards night. We traveled from Plano, Texas to Las Vegas and had an overnight stop over at this hotel. The room was spacious, clean and the staff were very friendly. There was a restaurant close to the hotel so you need to go far to go out for dinner or lunch. The breakfast was okay. It was a nice and relaxing stopover in this hotel and I would really recommend this for its good service, accessibility and cleanliness.

I made an online reservation for a non-smoking room with 2 beds, which was confirmed just as I made it. But when I went to check-in, they had me in a Smoking room with one king bed. Fortunately, the desk clerk mentioned "Smoking" and we caught it at the desk AND they were able to move us.

I've had better stays at this property numerous times. However it seems as though last recent stays it is not so welcoming.
1st calling to reserve a room, Front Desk Clerk saying no you don't need to make a reservation there are plenty of rooms. I kept insisting to reserve a room and finally my info was taken was never asked for my IHG Member Number, so i told her i will have my IHG number when i arrive.
2nd Arriving at the hotel waiting for someone to come up to the front desk. There was no keys ready or paperwork to be filled out. told her i had my IHG number and as always like several other times not greeted as a IHG member.
3rd Room Situation, In the room i found hair from previous guest in the bath tub, wall and ceiling. How it got on the ceiling is beyond me. Crumbled scrap paper from note pad on the room divider and on the counter, along with used note pad left with writing/notes and drawings.
4th Before bed turned off the heater because as previous stays i remembered that the room stayed warm even throughout the cold nights. However i was awaken every 30 to 45 mins having to shut the fan off because even though it was powered off it kicked on and would blow cold air.
Up in until recently I've always enjoyed staying at this property but there are definitely noticeable changes in the hospitality.

I stay at this Holiday Inn at least 2 to 3 times out of the week. I get treated very good. The staff is very helpful and friendly to me. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is always fresh, Thanks to Tanya. And Tanya is a very friendly person she is really good people.

The breakfast room staff were very attentive and made the stay worthwhile though the bath and room curtains as well as the faucets were in need of repair and cleaning.

Its our second year staying in this hotel on our way back to Texas from Christmas ski trip. The room is spacious and clean, very comfortable. For the price of the stay, it 's a great buy.

Went up to Albuquerque to get away and spend christmas in a new place ,and I always stay in a Holiday Inn express .....its funny how even the little things make me feel good ,..when the young lady at check in gave us a christmas card on arrival it made me feel like a real person not just a membership number.,..at breakfest the next morning even though the lady had to work christmas morning she was very cheerful and nice to help me my wife and all five of my children .,....overall I was very happy to stay... see you guys later.

We chose this motel as the location for a long holiday weekend with family. Upon arrival, I was checking in and requested that our rooms be as near to each other as possible. When I asked this I was told there was no way to accommodate the request. I asked if there was ANY way we could be near each other as the purpose of this trip was to see family. The same floor would have sufficed, the rooms didn't need to be right next to each other. I was rudely told no. When our other party checked in they asked the same thing and again were informed rudely no. Normally that wouldn't be enough to write a negative review but this was the attitude of the staff THE WHOLE WEEKEND. Every employee acted disgruntled when we were at the front desk. I called for towels, was told they were out (really???) and then was hung up on. We asked for a recommendation for a restaurant and that was the one positive interaction that was had.
Overall it's a convenient location to stay and a clean hotel but the staff needs some serious training in 'customer service'.

We always stay at Holiday Inn Express when we travel because we know that we will be getting a great hotel with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Albuquerque Midtown also delivered this. The hotel is very nice & clean, and the employees were friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a smile, and since we are rewards members we were given an upgrade to a larger room...nice. We had to stay an extra night, due to snow & heavy winds. But, even after we checked out and had to return after realizing we weren't going to make it on the icy roads, we were given our same room (even though the hotel was pretty busy) and guaranteed the same price as the night before. Thank you!
** I also wanted to say a special thank you to the friendly, caring young lady who was working the breakfast area the morning of Nov 25. I'm sorry I didn't get her name, but she was cheerful & funny, and really brightened up my morning. You could tell she loved her job and loved being there for the hotel guests.

I came to Albuquerque for work and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express from 10/28/13 to 11/07/13. All I have to say is awesome. I was able to relax when I came in from work each day.
Tania greeted me in the morning with a smile. She made sure that everyone who came into the breakfast area had what they needed.
I had these cool notes from the cleaning staff stating that they came by my room but noticed the tag on my door and respected my privacy. I appreciate that so much. On that note, I know you would save some money by not putting the sheets of paper under the door. It is a nice gesture but I would rather your company save money and put it towards a microwave oven in the breakfast area. Just a thought.
I also had the pleasure of meeting the rest of the front desk staff. Always greeted me with a smile. They were always helpful.
I noticed that they worked long hours and shifts they were crazy but they handled it with a smile. I really hope they get some kind of break because I always saw them at the desk or walking up to the desk as I came through the front doors. Very alert.
There was one night I was conversing with Zahira and Valerie and then the internet went out in the hotel. Both of them found a solution to the problem and took care of the matter and promptly as possible. They showed concern and care for the customers. That meant a lot to me.
I have to admit that it was hard saying goodbye on my trip. I can't wait until my job carries me back to Albuquerque so I can "come back home". The only cons I have is that you need a microwave oven in the breakfast area and better pillows. They weren't all that bad but new fluffy ones would be great.

I had a week long reservation. My room was not cleaned when I returned the one night so I came downstairs and asked for a manager and an explanation. There was no manager on duty, so I left my name and # with the clerk and requested a call from the manager in the morning. In the meanwhile, the only thing the clerk was able to do was switch my room. I returned from a long day of work to relax, and instead ended up packing up and moving all of my belongings to a different room because the hotel made a mistake and looked over my room. The manager never called me the following day and zero compensation was given. What a poor display of customer service.
