This hotel is right in the middle of everything in town. If I can drive less than 15 minutes and get to everything I need then that puts it in a great spot. I was able to relax but the pillows were just too soft for me. I am delicate when it comes to my pillows and they have to have a little more firmness to them. The room was also a little older in the furniture than some of the newer hotels. Sofa seemed like it was something from the 60's or 70's. Overall the price is great and the hotel is a pick for me next time.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a very nice, comfortable room. Front desk staff was helpful and cheerful. There could have been additional outlets for charging electronics. Internet was slow and hard to connect....other than that we enjoyed our overnight stay. Breakfast was good, plenty of selection and great start to next day of driving!

As I mentioned before. I always stay at Holiday Inn Express's because they are pet friendly, or so I thought.
I bring my Coton de Tulear with me wherever I go. He is a service dog for my pain management and is hypoallergenic and doesn't shed or smell like a dog. I checked in with the knowledge that it was a pet friendly hotel. I even walked the dog in on a leash numerous times and no one said anything.
I take him out for a potty break at 4AM and I get accosted by a lady, looked like she worked there and yells at me for it being dog free hotel and I have my 15lb kennel trained, none shedding, travel knowledgeable dog with me. I try to explain, as best one can at 4:30AM, that I thought they were allowed and she just kept on yelling at me I would be charged $100 extra. I finally gave up and went back to bed, what else could I do? I am upset because of her attitude and because I was incorrectly informed; not to mention the fine was more than the room including taxes (and I was using a tax exempt Government Card).
I will not be staying at that hotel again and I will not recommend it to my fellow government employees that travel there with a staff with an attitude like that. It should of been handled in a much more business like attitude and demeanor. Also, because they don't take dogs. One would think she was on night shift because of her attitude!
I get more upset the more I think about it. I understand rules and I understand mistakes and I understand policy and I know it can be waived as needed, I also understand people have bad days and personal issues. but policy should be handled in a professional manner and this wasn't. Even after checking out I am unsure if I was charged the $100 penalty for mistakenly bringing my dog with me, you can bet it will not happen again. If I ever decide to stay at a Holiday Inn Express (with whom I have always stayed with in the past) I will get it in writing dogs are allowed and carry it with me when i take the outside to go potty, because this was not the way i want to be treated, even if I was in the wrong mistakenly.

We travel from Phoenix to Iowa four or five times a year on family business and have made this hotel one of our regular stops, both coming and going. It's location works reasonably well with our travel itinerary and it's easily accessible from I-40. It is located near an excellent India restaurant, the Taj Mahal. The cost of their two-bed suite is extremely reasonable and the quality of the accommodation is excellent. We use the wireless internet connection frequently. The connection process is simple although the speed is somewhat less than most IHG properties we stay at. The channel selection for the TV's is excellent. We enjoy the complimentary breakfasts at all of the HIE hotels we stay in around the US but this one is the best we've found. The food quality is consistently high, the usual menu choices are always available, and the young lady who supervises the dining room provides exemplary service.

I feel the parking lot is to dark and not safe. You can also use more security. Again I love staying there and the staff treat me very good. Mandy,zahira,Valerie,Abby,Harley,Alex, and Tanya. Plus the whole staff there. This crew treats me very well.

It was great! We stayed on our way out to Arizona and decided we wanted to stay a second time on our way back. The staff is excellent and the rooms comfortable and inviting.
We're coming back when we're in the area.

Overall this hotel was one of the best experiences we have ever had. We were treated like we were their only guests. We did not have a car and needed to depend on the shuttle service. They really took care of our needs and we so appreciated everything. If we ever go back, we would definitely stay there!

I check in and get room next to elevator when plenty of other rooms are available. I request and they give me different room.
I am on elevator and staff member is not courteous or customer friendly.
I shower in the morning and end up standing in 4 inches of water because of a clogged drain.
This is by far the worst Holiday Inn Express experience I have ever had, I question the on site management of this location.

I was the meeting planner for a week-long training. The meeting space was perfect for the size of our group (50 people, classroom style). The staff was very prompt in finding whatever we needed and giving us the room to perform our duties. The rooms were clean and spacious. The housekeeping staff was efficient and timely. Breakfast was hot and fresh and the hotel shuttle was a bonus for all of our members who needed to go anywhere for Super Bowl weekend. Great experience all around.

We've always stayed at a "competitor" nearby when visiting our Albuquerque family, but when this one was suggested, we gave it a try! Good choice!
The staff seemed to really CARE about guests.
The roominess and the comfy beds were a BIG plus!
The breakfast (complete with either Hard`boiled eggs or a mini cheese omelette, bacon, sausage gravy and biscuits) was perfect for us!
Funeral trips are not a vacation, but I could've stayed longer and enjoyed this hotel's amenities!

Being IHG member I know lots of Holiday Inns and love staying in these hotels. This one has met my expectations. Great service, overall condition of the room and sleep quality. Would recommend to anyone in this area.

this was one of my worst experiences in a HIE. I had no wash cloths in my room and the hand towel was dirty. In the other room that my co-worker was staying in, his pillows smelled like B.O. I am on the road 75-100 days a year and this is one of the worst stays that i have had in a decade.

When we travel, the last thing we need is to worry about how our rooms will feel, or whether the internet will work.
As with ALL HI Express locations, Mid-town in Albuquerque was perfect! Staff was very helpful, food was great, even the coffee wasn't bad!
My expectations are pretty high with Holiday Inn Express, but this stay met or exceeded my expectations. Thanks HI Express!

This was my first poor service for a Holiday Inn Express stay.
The shuttle was parked in a manner that did not allow me to drive up and check-in. The desk clerk was in the lodge area looking at something on a laptop that I believe belonged to the shuttle driver. Once I got to my room it looked like the bed closes to the a/c unit didn't have fresh sheets and the mattress was sagged on the edge which means it was probably 8-10 yrs old. The ceiling paint was pulled away in some areas. I had to go to the car an retreive some things and while in the lobby I saw some cookies on a tray not covered. While outside I saw the desk clerk and asked how long the cookies had been out and he said he didn't know but he had over baked them about 20 mins. I asked if they came with free milk and was told everything was locked up and he didn't have the key.
While he was outside smoking another desk clerk was in the lodge area with the shuttle driver looking at something on the laptop.
When I got back to my room I adjusted the a/c to cool the room down and the unit sounded like I was in a wind tunnel. I ended up sleeping in the 2nd bed away from the a/c unit. It didn't sleep any better but I'm retired AF and have slept in much worst conditions. I've always tried to stay at a Holiday Inn Express becasue of it's excellent service and room conditions. This was the worst and so far has been the exception.

I was traveling through town and just looking for a place to spend the night. Arrived late. Hotel was a bit harder than most to find off the freeway. Area it was in seemed a bit dated, and maybe not as safe as some.
Staff was friendly, and hotel lobby and breakfast area were good. Food selection was a little skimpy compared to most.
Elevators needed updating as did some things in the room. The room was clean, but heating system was the older/louder variety. Beds were average as was the linen. I slept fine, but was dead tired so that does not surprise me.
