The furniture was outdated. The bed was the worst bed I have slept in since a motel 6 a few years ago. The drain in the tub didn't function well, leading to a bath while taking a shower. The price paid was definitely not worth the value. Extremely unhappy with Holiday Inn Express.

Check-In (as a Platinum) was poor. Given last room on the ground floor next to the exit. Extremely noisy from both the lobby as well as the side door late at night.
Breakfast was clean but missing items. Had hot water for oatmeal, but no oatmeal for the 3 days I was there.
Pool was closed the first day, and then with a cold front it was too cold to swim the other two days.
Front Desk clerk was very rude at check-in.

11pm or so i called down to the front desk and a gentleman answered the phone, i asked for a late check out, "Yes your check out will be at 2pm". So with his answer of being "Yes 2pm" i felt it only proper to be able to try and relax and sleep in.
11am house keeping knocking on the door "Its check out" i asked her isn't normal check out at 12pm. With no reply i told her I would be checking out late at 2pm and her reply was "No". She asked who i talked to and when, After mins of explain. I called down to the front desk to get clarification on weather it was noted that i had ask for the late check out. The lady who answered the phone had no knowledge of the late check out. She then tells me i can only have a check out till 1pm. I questioned why, and told her i was told 2pm and she quickly said "Yeah thats fine". house keeping then came back around at 1pm even though the D.N.D sign is out and i open the door and i then tell her 2pm check out, her reaction is laughing saying ok as i close the door.
I have stayed there twice within the past 90 days and was asked if i wanted a points or a treat bag and i each time i picked points and not yet have seen the welcome points posted.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the room that we had. It was a large room with a separate sitting area, with a couch and chairs and very comfortable. We only regret that we stayed one night alone. The breakfast was the high quality standard that IHG is known for. Great job by the staff, as well. Overall, we would recommend this property to all of our friends passing through Albuquerque.

my stay at the hotel was not to bad but the breakfast attendant acted like she was there for us to serve and not to help us with are stay.

Some people actually care about your exercise room. I will not be coming back until you have some equipment that works. Your treadmill "sticks", the exercise bike wouldn't even turn on and someone else was already using the elliptical.

My time apent at Holiday Inn Express was fine.
Bathroom smelled like mildew, may want to change the shower curtain.
Breakfast is good.
I was not offered a choice of snacks or points...I recieved snacks and woudl have rather had teh points.

Bathroom is small. Hard to step in and out of tub. Need more lighting at sink area.
Sofa was uncomfortable.
But overall, my stay was better than average.
I have stayed at this facility several times.

This hotel has a nice and courteous staff who will help you feel relaxed. The shuttle service is convenient when looking to go to nearby areas without needing to worry about driving. The location of the hotel is great since it is located close to two highways but isn't disrupted by noise.

At check-in I presented my Platinum Ambassador card. However, to my surprise I was told that this card was not part of the IHG loyalty program (!).
After having explained to the employee that indeed it was (actually the highest level there is), the card was hesitantly accepted.
Needless to say that there was no recognition for being a platinum member and consequently no offer of extra bonus points/welcome gift or room upgrade.
Actually, I would probably have been better off being a basic (silver?) IHG member. A somewhat bizarre experience...
Anyway, the room is ok for the price.
Traffic noise, although the adjacent road is not that busy, is surprisingly high.
As in most HIE hotels the "high speed internet" is no such thing. It is a 2mbps line that can be used only for email and (very) light internet use.
The outdoor pool was not in use. With temperatures of high 80's that was a bit of a shame.
I will not be coming back to this hotel.

Have stayed in many hotels while visiting Albuquerque.
Really enjoyed my stay and will definitely return.
It was clean , felt safe, room was comfortable and price right. Nearby shopping area was convenient as well.
Noise level in our room was nonexistent , staff was friendly .... Off season , so pool was closed. plenty of parking around the hotel....just wish they had a perimeter fence enclosing the parking as the area is very open. Otherwise safe and have never had problems.

Stayed at the Midtown HIE coming back from a road trip visit to Austin TX. The hotel was great! Good location (easy off and on to I40), and great bed and comfortable stay. We would come back when in the area again.

I think management handled the no hot water issue really bad. Otherwise, I would have rated them excellent as it has been in the past. This is a good facility and I will stay here again.

The boiler went out and the guest were notified by a letter under the door. There were two mornings with little or no hot water and one night without any hot water. The hotel didn't offer to comp the room or give any discount for future stays. Very disappointing stay. Normally the stay here is good. It's very embarrassing to show up to a work training without having a shower for a day and a half. The. Bed was comfortable and the room was nice.

The room was supposed to be "No Smoking" but someone had smoked in it, and when I opened the door there was no doubt it had been smoked in recently. They tried to find me another room, but were too full. The desk staff said they may be able to find some spray (like Febreeze) which may have helped, and she said she'd bring it up. But she never showed or called. I even found one of the cigarettes sticking out from under the TV stand, and gave it to the front desk. I'm surprised that the cleaning staff didn't initiate some action. It was certainly a noticeable odor! I made do.

This is a very clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Check in and check out was quick and painless. The room was spacious and comfortable. My stay here was an overall pleasant experience.

Excellent stay. Was greeted well and taken care of just as well. Enjoyed the spacious room, bedding was very comfortable and immensely enjoyed the fact that there was a restaurant within walking distance so I could eat, take a lil stroll, and return to my room and relax.

This hotel is right in the middle of everything in town. If I can drive less than 15 minutes and get to everything I need then that puts it in a great spot. I was able to relax but the pillows were just too soft for me. I am delicate when it comes to my pillows and they have to have a little more firmness to them. The room was also a little older in the furniture than some of the newer hotels. Sofa seemed like it was something from the 60's or 70's. Overall the price is great and the hotel is a pick for me next time.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a very nice, comfortable room. Front desk staff was helpful and cheerful. There could have been additional outlets for charging electronics. Internet was slow and hard to connect....other than that we enjoyed our overnight stay. Breakfast was good, plenty of selection and great start to next day of driving!

As I mentioned before. I always stay at Holiday Inn Express's because they are pet friendly, or so I thought.
I bring my Coton de Tulear with me wherever I go. He is a service dog for my pain management and is hypoallergenic and doesn't shed or smell like a dog. I checked in with the knowledge that it was a pet friendly hotel. I even walked the dog in on a leash numerous times and no one said anything.
I take him out for a potty break at 4AM and I get accosted by a lady, looked like she worked there and yells at me for it being dog free hotel and I have my 15lb kennel trained, none shedding, travel knowledgeable dog with me. I try to explain, as best one can at 4:30AM, that I thought they were allowed and she just kept on yelling at me I would be charged $100 extra. I finally gave up and went back to bed, what else could I do? I am upset because of her attitude and because I was incorrectly informed; not to mention the fine was more than the room including taxes (and I was using a tax exempt Government Card).
I will not be staying at that hotel again and I will not recommend it to my fellow government employees that travel there with a staff with an attitude like that. It should of been handled in a much more business like attitude and demeanor. Also, because they don't take dogs. One would think she was on night shift because of her attitude!
I get more upset the more I think about it. I understand rules and I understand mistakes and I understand policy and I know it can be waived as needed, I also understand people have bad days and personal issues. but policy should be handled in a professional manner and this wasn't. Even after checking out I am unsure if I was charged the $100 penalty for mistakenly bringing my dog with me, you can bet it will not happen again. If I ever decide to stay at a Holiday Inn Express (with whom I have always stayed with in the past) I will get it in writing dogs are allowed and carry it with me when i take the outside to go potty, because this was not the way i want to be treated, even if I was in the wrong mistakenly.
