My wife and I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and always received good service. The young lady in charge of the complimentary breakfast is particularly delightful and competent. This visit's desk service, however, was a disconcerting exception. On arrival there was no recognition of our priority club status, no offer of amenities, and the accumulated points total on the room folder was less than half of what it should have been. When I asked the clerk to check it, she replied, "We can't do that here." Since a number was written on the room folder, it was obvious that someone had done it. The following morning there was no receipt under our door #this sometimes happens since we use the "advance purchase" option# so I asked the morning desk clerk to print one out for me. She informed me that she wasn't allowed to do that #which has never happened in our hundreds of stays at IHG hotels#. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told he didn't come in until 1:00 PM and I'd have to call the IHG reservations line. ??? While breakfasting we talked with the server who recognized us from our numerous previous visits. She interceded with the desk clerk for us and we finally got a receipt printed and our points total checked and corrected. We returned to our room and I went to the ice machine on our floor #4# to get ice for our water bottles. It wasn't working. I decided to go to the next floor only to find that the elevator's "up" call button on 4 wasn't working. OK, I went down to the 3rd floor, only to find that that ice machine wasn't functional either. A guest waiting for the elevator there told me that the only one he'd found working was on 5. Sharing the elevator with him, I was able to make my way to the 5th floor and confirm that.
It's been about four or five months since we've stayed at this particular hotel and these staff and maintenance issues were new problems. Since performance expectations are a top-down function, I'd recommend some additional training for new employees and management.

Very courteous staff, Hotel was very clean, Rooms are large and well laid out, clean bathrooms. Good quality mattress and pillows. A very nice breakfast included.
Noise level from the next room was a little high
