The room was nice and we enjoyed the fact that the staff moved us to a 1st floor room without any hassle! After six weeks on the road the sameness of the breakfasts was getting a bit old, though. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally! After being on the road for 12 days straight it was a very pleasant change to be greeted as a platinum member and rewarded accordingly. It really annoys me off to have to tell the desk at check in that I am Platinum and then wrestle for an upgrade. Not here, the staff welcomed me as a Platinum member, gave me a little bag with some snacks and offered me a choice of different rooms. Very nice!!! Great staff, crisp clean room, excellent breakfast, all I wanted and expect. June 7, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ok I have stayed at this property before and was extremely happy. This time, I was not so pleased. Sticky counter tops, stained linens, toilet didnt flush, air conditioner iffy at best. The worst was, when we went to check in... our reservation had been cancelled!! They blamed the web site.. The staff bent over backwards for us to make us happy. I feel bad writing a not so good review because they were so nice, but they need to step it up if they want us to return. June 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good place to sleep Not one of the nicer Holiday Inn Expresses I've stayed in, but it wasn't awful. Clean rooms, just not as aesthetically appealing as others. Staff was friendly but check in took a while. I am a priority club member and usually when I check in we get a complimentary bottled water, snack, bar drink, or something, but received nothing here. It was a pleasant stay, I've just come to expect a little more from this chain. There is another Holiday Inn Express down the road that I heard it nice. May 31, 2013

We enjoyed using the inside pool, but the water was very cloudy - it needs to be serviced by a pool service company. The chemicals probably are out of balance. The tiles in the SPA were stained and it was not very inviting, The service personnel were polite and efficient. April 25, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional staff My stay at his Holiday Inn was extended, due to illness in the family and then, a week or so later, extended again due to a death/funeral. The staff was MORE than caring and accommodating to me and the members of my family who also stayed there for periods of 4 or more days. By staff, I mean all management and support staff: the front desk staff; breakfast room staff; housekeeping staff; security staff; maintenance staff. I have stayed here many times, and it will continue to be my hotel of choice whenever I am in Albuquerque. April 17, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Two stays - One good - One fair We stayed at this HIX two night in one week (one on our way to our destination and one on the return trip.) The first night was not great. The mattresses seemed to be old and a little uncomfortable. The heater/cooler was very noisy all night. Our room was on the second floor. The second night was much better. The mattresses, though not top-of-the-line, were much better and we were not bothered by noise. Our room was on the first floor. The breakfast was very good, but the breakfast room is a little small and crowded, especially when it is busy. We would stay at this HIX again though. The people were very friendly and accommodating. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice staff and clean comfortable room Of the 4 nights I stayed, I had one night of several woman chatting late into the night and loud laughing... The bed pillows were plush enough to cover my head and block out most of it.. My other 3 nights were great and comfortable after long days sightseeing and visiting with family. We used the pool on a couple of nights. The hot tub was way to hot for me and some others.. I wish the dining area were larger, it was crowded, but some new food items were offered each day. I enjoyed the yogurt, oatmeal and fresh fruit! Thank you! March 31, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff I checked in on a Tuesday evening, very ill. The staff called for transportation to a medical facility. I was admitted, and called back to the front desk. Staff held my room, and secured it until my wife arrived later the next day. They assisted my wife in every way possible while I was hospitalized. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. My one night stay extended to 5 with my medical condition. I am very thankful to the staff that looked out for me, and my family during this difficult time! March 8, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Look at pictures first This hotel advertises an indoor pool. Technically it is. You have to go outside to get to it!! In 20 degree weather this was not acceptable. We had sliding doors from our room to the pool. However, you cannot use them. Great. Don't try closing the bathrom door - you have to stand in the shower or squish into the wall. This was not NOT a typical Holiday Inn Express. February 6, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not all the same This is an example of Holiday Inn buying old properties and just putting the HIE name on it expecting customers to accept the cheap facilities. If I wanted exterior corridors, no elevator, noisy wall mounted HVAC, terrible pillows and small bathrooms I would go to a budget chain motel. While the staff was good I can't say the same for the room. I stayed in a newer HIE in Rolla ,Mo the next night and it was very nice for the same price. I would pass by any of these ersatz HIE's in the future and stay with another brand if it comes to that. January 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff!!! We were on our way to California when we stopped at this Holiday Inn for a night of rest. We arrived there too early after driving all night because I didn't calculate the 2-hour time change (and driving wasn't too bad). I didn't even realized that until the front desk lady noticed our tiredness and told us that our reserved room wasn't ready. I didn't even ask, but she made an arrangement so that we could check-in early and rest. How sweet and thoughtful she was!!! (I wish I could remember her name...) The floors of the swimming pool and jacuzzi areas could be cleaner, but everything else was great. I really like the people who wok there. That really matters for all businesses. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our choice of hotels to stay at in Albuquerque We have stayed at this hotel for the past 5 visits to Albuquerque. We used to live there but after moving our family visits to ABQ require hotel stays and this one is convenient to I-40, shopping, dining, and our family. I personally enjoy the breakfast and the variety of choices that are offered. The staff is always positive and professional and represent the company well. We look for a hotel to sleep comfortably in at a reasonable price for a family of four, as we don't spend much time at the hotel itself. We also like having restaurants and shopping withing walking distance. This time we brought our labrador for the first time ever on a trip and we gladly paid the $25.00 pet fee. We received one feces bag and some dog treats, which was a nice surprise. They have a grassy section to use for bathroom visits. The experience was very satisfactory. January 6, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Issues This was one of the worst Holiday Inn's I have stayed at in a long time. Breakfast area was too crowded and there was room in the next room for some of the tables to be moved out of the eating area where people could move through the line to get their food. Had to take a luke warm shower which in the winter was rough. What made the worst of it was when I told the front desk they said there was plenty of warm water. That was when I told her I wanted a hot shower not a warm shower she acted like it was my problem. The person I checked out after I had seen in the breakfast area and she stated the hot water was barely warm as well. I told the girl at the front desk that the person that had just checked out also complained about the water temperature and she said she had that room checked and there was warm water in that room as well. My recommendation if you are staying in Albuquerque in the winter stay somewhere else. A barely warm shower on a cold morning is not a way to start your morning. January 4, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not so good i have been a priority club member since 2000 and this is the worst stay we have ever had. it was cold outside and so i got to the room and prepared to take a nice warm shower and to my surprise no hot water only luke warm water. the same thing happened the next morning. room was next to pool and it was noisiey even after 10:00 at might. two thumbs down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and good value Overall the value for this HIE is good. However it is a dated building that probably was another hotel at another time and was renamed HIE. I am not a fan of the motel type that this bulilding represents. I travel extensively and am now concerned about the locks that hotels have on the entry doors. HIE should address this issue and change the locks if they are of the easily hacked type. The staff was very nice and breakfast is always a plus at HIE's. It is close to the freeway and lots of eating, gas and shopping options. December 18, 2012
