Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay I have always enjoyed staying at your hotel. I have stayed in three states and have received very good service. I did not know about rewards until someone explained it to me. I just kept coming because it was always clean and a step above some of the other places that I have stayed. I enjoy being made to feel special when they let me know what I get for being a member. Thanks again for a great stay and dynamite breakfast. I will be back next month. Each time this facility has problems with it's computers, but desk was helpful. Last time they were waiting for it to be looked at. April 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean & Bright Very nice contemporary decor, clean & bright hotel with attentive, cheerful staff, just minutes from old town Alexandria with lots of dining options, and 15 minutes from Wash.DC Mall area. All the employees I encountered were pleasant & helpful. No negative surprises at all (that alone makes for a positive experience for me when I'm traveling). One suggestion: It would real nice if you offered hash browns (or other potatoes) & bacon at breakfast. March 23, 2013

The hotel was close to D.C and the Metro was right around the corner. Next time I plan to a trip to the D.C. area I will definitely stay here again. Thanks for the great week! March 18, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Second Visit Our over night visit 3 months ago was good. However, this visit with an advance reservation, we were booked into Room 113. We asked to be moved when we checked in at 4: PM but were told no rooms were available. At 5:00 AM we realized the breakfast area was directly overhead and didn't get any more sleep! At our request the front desk said they would tranfer us to the 4th Floor as soon as housekeeping had a room ready (1 HR +/-#. As we had plans, we loaded our luggage and my wife returned our keys as I drove to the front to pick her up. They now said a room was ready; however, we had pressing plans to meet family and my son & I came back at 2-3 PM to drop off luggage. When we got back to the room at 8:30 PM we became aware the HAC unit had been turned off #64 degrees). Both rooms had very loud fans on the HAC units. The next night we planned to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Woodstock but stayed at the hotel next door instead. Future visits to family in Alexandria will be spent at another hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Stay & Convenient to DCA Airport This hotel is within minutes to DCA airport so you can relax & not stress about being late. It is also an exit away across the bridge to National Harbor. The price is reasonable/affordable compared to hotels closer to DC, the rooms are clean, crisp and comfortable, free breakfast is more than sufficient, free parking, free internet/wi-fi. Very nice. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay, great staff For a business trip to metro DC, it's a great site. Their shuttle can whisk you to the nearby Metro train station. By car you're right off major highways to VA, DC, and MD, and the airport is just minutes away. Amanda, the GM, is genuinely interested in the guests' comfort and the front desk folks like Phill and Marleana #sp?# were all very professional. January 30, 2013

Last trip they ran out of yogurt, and food trays were not refilled in a timely fashion on a Sunday. Wait staff woman put out a tip jar. Really tacky. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Hotel and Wonderful Staff We were pleasantly surprised that this Holiday Inn Express was so beautiful. The lobby area was very welcoming and newly furnished. We were graciously welcomed by Marlene at the front desk and she assisted us with nearby restaurants in the Old Town area of Alexandria, VA. We were only there for one night, but we really enjoyed our stay and will look forward to coming back next spring for a few days to visit this historic area of Virginia. Keep up the good work! C.M. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bad start, good recovery The first night I slept in my clothes because the sheets on the bed in room 408 were not clean and appeared to not have been changed from the previous guest. I told the front desk the next morning and they had house keeping change the sheets. In addition to dirty sheets, the toilet would clog and slowly drain. I went to the front desk and David the maintenance man happen to be there and came to my rescue. He brought the snake and after many attempts was able to extract the room cardkey that someone had flushed prior to my arrival. A first for both of us. David was great in helping and even cleaned up before he left. He appologized for the inconvenience and explained that this had not been reported before. David provided excellent customer service quickly and turned what could have been a bad situation into a positive. Thank you David for your help. As for the dirty sheets on the bed, if the policy of this hotel is to not change the sheets after every customer stay, I will not be staying here again. Nor will I recommend my collegues stay her either. I would hope that the management of housekeeping would ensure that arriving customers do not have to sleep on dirty sheets in the future. We had a few minor problems, and it was always resolved quickly.The front desk staff was wonderful in recommending where to eat and how to get to places. The shuttle bus to the Metro was quick and the drivers were wonderful. The lady that works the breakfast is really there to serve you: bringing a paper,making pancakes, getting extra napkins, and offered to help in any way she could. This was also a very quiet hotel. We stayed in a jacuzzi room which was wonderful after walking all day in Washington. The only drawback to this room was that the room above us had a jacuzzi tub too. When they would fill the tub, it sounded like a standing under a waterfall. This lasted only about ten to fifteen minutes, so no real problem...just so happened they always did it right when we were going to sleep!!! I would definitely go back to this hotel. And every Holiday Inn should strive to meet the quality that this hotel offered! November 19, 2012

The location is good, a few minutes from Old Town Alexandria one direction and a few minutes from Mt. Vernon the other direction. The staff was great - very friendly and accomodating.
