A colleague and I were in town on a business trip. Upon arriving the hotel staff was extremely helpful in getting us into the hotel in spite of the falling snow. It basically snowed the entire time we were in Altoona and the hotel staff continued to give the "flat landers" rules and tips for traversing snowy highways. Also, for such an wonderful price comparably, the rooms were wonderful. Great job, Altoona!

The rooms were roomy and comfortable. The location is great . Everythig is close by on Pleasant Valley Blvd. Perkins Restauraunt i sright next door.
Good Breakfast with fantastic Cinnamon Rolls. The beds were very comfy. Free coffee anytime in the lobby. It was a littel noisy at times in the morning.

We have an annual meeting every February in Altoona. We have always chosen the Holiday Inn Express because of their location and great breakfast. We love having a hot breakfast with eggs, pancakes, sausage, sweet rolls, juice and all the trimmings included in the price of our hotel. With the cold weather in February, it is nice to not have to go out for breakfast. The staff are very helpful and make our stay great. We will be returning next year!

Check-in was very easy. Nice perk to have the 20% discount at TGIF. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a wide variety of choices. We will stay here again!

The front desk staff was excellent; quick, efficient, and genuinely friendly. I appreciated the perks of bottled water & snacks. The room was exceptionally clean and pillows and bed were comfortable.

Stayed here while visiting family for the holidays. Tara at the front desk was extremely friendly and professional and even took the time to enroll me in Priority Club Rewards program that enabled me to get a better rate. She provided excellent customer service....even considering she was stuck working on Christmas Eve! The rooms in this hotel are extremely clean, which is very important to me as a traveler, and the complimentary breakfast offered each morning is awesome. Excellent place - will definately stay here again when returning to Altoona to visit.

I was very happy with my recent stay at the Altoona Holiday Inn Express. I made the reservation online, and specifically chose Holiday Inn Express because they said they were pet friendly. However, it was not made explicitly clear that the "pet friendly" experience included a non-refundable $75 cleaning fee for my pet. It would've been cheaper to leave my pet at home, or board my pet for one night. Had I known this, I would not have brought my pet along for my short stay. That aside, the staff was super friendly, and the breakfast bar offered a surprisingly large amount of food for it being complimentary. The only other complaint I would have is a lengthly hold fee on my debit card. We ended up staying an extra night, and even though the full amount was charged to my debit card the next day for our stay (two nights + pet fee) there was a charge pending on my account for over a week for what amounted to one night's stay. Also, for a "pet friendly" hotel, I'd really recommend having water/food bowls and possibly a treat for the pet - for $75, that would have been nice to have for my dog.

I was travelling with my son's hockey team and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Jennifer Misner in the Sales office did a great job of setting up a block of rooms for us. When we arrived, all the front desk staff - especially Brian - went out of their way to take care of any and all requests: a space for us to share a meal, a reco for pizza delivery, a knife for cutting birthday cake... If our team schedule brings us back to Altoona, I know where we'll be staying!

One of the best Holiday Inn Express's I've stayed at, and I'm a Platinum member. I did not receive an upgrade, but did receive an AAA discount for the King Suite, which I prefer when traveling to provide more of a "home" setting. The little gift when checking in for being a Platinum member, and the colld bottle water/ popcorn in the room was a very pleasent surprise, and a nice touch!!

I needed a place to stay that could accomodate me, my 90 yo mother and my little dog during a visit to family in State College over the Thanksgiving Holiday. All of the hotels in State College were booked. My internet search led me to the Holiday Inn Express Altoona. As a seasoned traveler, what is most important to me is cleanliness, comfort, convenience and feeling safe. I felt like I was staying with family. The room was exceptionally clean, the staff were very responsvive and friendly, there was shopping available nearby and the hotel was very close to highway 99. Having breakfast included was a real plus. I was able to take a tray to the room for my mom who has difficulty with vision and walking (even my pooch had a few bites of the breakfast choices). I would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again. The only thing extra I would have wanted was for the fireplace in the lobby to be on, but I never stopped at the desk to request this.

This was our first stay at this hotel. Twice a year we stop off on our way up North. The hotel we normally stay at was booked. Thought we would give this one a try. At first glance we were second guessing our stay. But staff was extremely helpful as we arrived late with tired children. They were friendly and attentive and recognized we were Priority Club Members. We asked for a rollaway and the maintenace man jumped right on it before his shift ended. The room was spacious and beds comfortable. Breakfast was great! The staff took pride in the hotel. We will be visiting this hotel again.

This has to be one of the best, if not the best, hotel we have ever stayed in! From the woman who checekd us in to the breakfast staff to the housekeeping crew, everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, pleasant, etc.
I honestly can find nothing to complain about!

This location was great because of the available dining and shopping options close by. The two story lay out was a nice change from the usual hotel arraingement. The available priority club recognition snacks should some genuine consideration and forethought. I miss applied my ratings assuming highest rating was on the left (like we read, left to right) sorry.

Upon arrival mid evening, I was pleasantly greeted and quickly checked in with my reservation. I was asked if I had been to this hotel before and even though I said yes, I was kindly reminded of the complimentary breakfast. I was glad that the front desk didn't call me once I was in my room and starting to relax. Other hotels do call and make sure everything is in order, but I would let them know without the phone call. The room was spacious, clean and far from the elevator. I was able to adjust the temperature to suit my needs for a restful sleep. Breakfast was good with numerous hot and cold choices. I will stay here again on my next visit to Altoona.

Rooms were perfect: clean, spacious, and quiet. Complimentary breakfast was super. Staff was very polite and willing to assist when needed. Plenty of local dining facilities (but stay away from the Perkins next door !). Would recommend this Hotel for families or individuals.

We recently spent three nights at this hotel and it was the most relaxed, comfortable stay we have had in quite a while.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was a large selection to chose for breakfast too.

The rooms were nice and comfortable .We were visiting our son At PSU. close about 5 min from campus. Wish we had bigger pillow, but for sure if we ask they would have provided.. Front Desk very nice Ladies**Coddles*. Housekeeping Lovely.. Just wish they had meat on breakfest bar and juice..O yeah the sofa bed blanket was only for one person.. Over alllllll. I would stay again. Thanks from Washington D.C
