Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by halesthequeen2015 I made my reservation on the phone to IHG, I asked for a heated pool because my granddaughter wanted to swim. The West side Holiday Inn Express is the one I usually stay at by they were sold out of the rewards night. I booked this room, it looked nice from the outside and the lobby was nice. The room we were given was very cold, heat was off. Amarillo had received a lot of snow the night before and that day. We went to the pool and raised the heat thinking the room would be warm when we returned. The pool was freezing cold, it surely wanted a heated pool and the hot tub was just warm, not very relaxing. We stayed about 10 minutes then headed to the room. The room was very cold. I called the desk and the front desk attendant came up with some pliers. He went to the heater/cooler by the window and took the cover off and did something with the pliers. Finally the room started warming up. The next morning, the manager just stood by the breakfast room and watched people. It was very uncomfortable! I will NEVER stay at this place again. I guess the owners/managers wanted to save on Energy, but you don't do that in the freezing winter weather. Not fit to be called a Holiday Inn Property. January 16, 2015

It was immaculate and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The staff on the night shift was right on setting up the breakfast area. Since we are up very early, we really appreciate it. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Good Hotel_Bathrooms need attention We stay exclusively at IHG properties and very rarely come away disappointed. We were not completely let down by this hotel but this was one of our more disappointing stays. We look forward to the clean rooms, comfortable beds and hot showers during our frequent road trips. Unfortunately, there was something very wrong with the drainage system during our stay. It was bitterly cold (5 F) the night we stayed and that may have been the issue but it was a major let down to have our sink and bathtub not drain. It is very uncomfortable to stand in six inches of water while you are trying to shower. It is even more uncomfortable to bathe in luke-warm water. Everything else at this hotel (beds, cleanliness, staff, breakfast, etc...) was top notch, as usual, but the bathrooms / drainage system need some attention. January 2, 2015
