Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Everything was good except for the air conditioning The Holiday Inn Express Hotels have new air conditioning methods. We couldn't adjust the temperature and the fans. The fans blew directly on the beds. If we tried to make the room a little cooler it was too cold. If we raised the temperature a bit it became too warm. Other than that the hotel is very nice. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed this time…. We have now stayed at the hotel 3 times -the first 2 times were excellent. This time, when we made the reservation, we asked for our favorite room. When we got to the hotel, we were in a different room…and the request on the check in form was for room 335, away from ice machines and elevator. The room that was assigned was right beside the elevator!!!! When we questioned the clerk at check in, she said we have a new person doing room assignments and she must not have read the request…duh????? When we got to the room, the tissue box was empty, there was a long black hair on the air conditioner cover, the refrigerator was full of water that had defrosted, a light above the closet was burned out, the alarm clock went off at 5:00 am that we did not set and even being IHG Ambassador, we received no paper at our door. We are coming back through Amarillo in 2 weeks and would love to know if we can count on the hotel for a pleasant stay after a long drive. September 8, 2014
