Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Business trip Apperance was beautiful. Inside great. During check in the clerk was slow and tied up with something else. Phone rang and she didn't use professionalism. She just walked away. Morning1 there were no more eggs at 8:50a.mand no coffee. Tables and chairs clean. The lounge chairs were dirty in breakfats room. 2nd morning no coffee at 8 am. Host did acknowledge and made more. Rooms were great. June 16, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hot Room It;s Amarillo. Our room was on the west side of the building. The window covering was a white sheer material and did nothing to block the suns heat. I covered the window with a blanket from the bed and the a/c was able to catch up. You would think this kind of problem would be obvious to a company building a hotel in the southwest. I live five hundred miles south of Amarillo and it is cooler by us in the summer. June 6, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE After we checked in, we turned the TV on. We wanted to watch HBO, but could not get the channel trying two different ways. We called down to the desk and they suggested two methods which we already tried. The response was for us to change rooms. We were already settled in and did not want to move. We expected someone on the staff to come up and try to resolve the problem; instead we were told to move to another room. Very disappointing We never were able to watch HBO We went down to eat breakfast at 8:30am and they were just about out of food May 21, 2014

I often make the drive from Colorado Springs, CO to San Antonio, TX and have always avoided staying in Amarillo. I found this HiE to be ideally located. The staff was friendly and helpful. i had a good night's sleep and enjoyed a good breakfast before continuing on my trip. May 18, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cleaning supplies and wifi While there were some really nice parts of our weekend stay, there were two things I'd like to comment on. I expect a clean bathroom when I stay at a hotel. While the bathroom appeared clean when we first checked in, it was not cleaned during our stay. (I know this because one of our guests had intestinal issues during the night and it was very obvious. The cleaning staff could not have missed that the facility needed to be cleaned.) There was nothing done in our bathroom during our stay except clean towel replacement. We mentioned it to the hotel lobby staff later in the day and when we returned later, it had been cleaned, thankfully. The second thing was that the WIFI service in the room was basically non-existent. We ended up having to use personal service to do business when we were assured free wifi. This is frustrating. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Front Desk & each Staff Member Kathy & Dee were Incredible Front Desk & Welcoming part of the Holiday Inn Express on Amarillo, Texas I-27. I had gone to a previous Holiday Inn Express on Amarillo, Texas i-40 East off of the Airport Exit, only to leave due to the Front Desk girl came across with an attitude of "I, the potental Guest, was more of a burden to see if rooms were available & the price, with a sign that was between she & I that said if a Debt Card was used they would hold a huge chunk from Guest Banking Account for at least 10 days. With her attitude at the I-40 East Holiday Inn Express, I already was ready to walk out the door. I also asked if there were any Smoking Rooms. With the answer of "No." I decided the welcoming hospitality face of the I-40 Front Desk girl wasn't one that felt to inviting. So traveling a little further down the road to my destination, I felt it best to keep traveling due to it was still light outside. When I saw the Holiday Inn Express going South on I-27, I thought I might take the time to see if I felt a little more welcomed there. Kathy was the first person to greet me...and already at the very first contact, I knew I had found the perfect place to rest, go visit my famiy for Christmas Lunch and come back to a restful stay. And sure enough, this was my experience for the 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express on I-27 heading South out of Amarillo, Texas. Dee was the graveyard Front Desk Representative after Kathy went off Duty. Because I am a Smoker and no Rooms are offered to Smokers whom enjoy smoking while catching up with the Business Work or just Relaxing watching TV, I would have to go downstairs outside in the cold to smoke, each time Kathy and Dee greeted me with a very professional attitude & conversation that was one that made me feel right home. I am very Grateful for my 2 night stay at Holiday Inn Express on I-27 South in Amarillo, Texas. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice rooms, but poor service We had requested in our online reservation that our room be placed away from noise--i.e. ice machines, elevators, etc. However, upon check in we were placed in a room next to the housekeeping utility closet/supply room. We requested a room change, but the young lady at the front desk stated that she had no other place to put us. She was completely unapologetic for the oversight. We were very disappointed with the lack of attention to detail in regard to our reservation. As expected, the next morning was not restful. Housekeeping of course began cleaning and the noise in the supply room woke us up and we were unable to fall back asleep. The room itself was clean, spacious, and very nice. We were happy with the overall quality of the room and hotel, but are very disappointed with the quality of the staff. If the staff quality improves, we would be more inclined to stay at this hotel if we are in Amarillo again. December 2, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Staff unhelpful and cold shower When I checked in, I asked for a room on the west side of the hotel so that I wouldn't have to listen to the traffic on the Interstate on the east side. The receptionist gave me a room and said that it was as quiet as it was going to get. The room turned out to be on the east side facing the interstate. Then when I took my shower the next morning, I ran out of hot water and finished up taking an ice cold shower. October 21, 2013

There was no fresh fruit or sausage, otherwise breakfast was fine, cinnamon rolls were very good. Senior discount was welcomed without question. October 20, 2013

Well, the front desk clerk was very busy when I checked in and you could tell was under pressure, but I can't understand why she was couldn't smile (a smile helps people to relax), she did the process as if she was a robot. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very comfortable My husband and I were on the last 2 days of our vacation and decided that after some of the other hotels we had stayed at we needed a better choice of hotel. We booked a room here and were very glad we did. The room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast bar was great. The only complaint we had was that they pancake machine was not more visible. We had already gotten our other food when we saw it tucked away on another counter. Pancakes are my husbands favorite food, so he was a little bummed he didn't get to try it! He said that that was the best sleep of the whole trip. If we are back in Amarillo we will be going back to this hotel. October 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast We arrived for breakfast on a Sunday morning at 9:45. While I understand breakfast ends at 10 the hostess was already shutting the juice machine down and taking up the food and was rather rude. We stayed at this hotel several times and have never experienced this. We plan to stay there MANY more time since our daughter now attends WT and hope that this service improves. All channels on the TV were fuzzy. On the positive side I reserved a Queen double but requested a King Suite when I arrived. The front desk clerk was friendly and accommodated my request. The hotel was also very convenient to a number of eating places as well as the Interstate. The only draw back, was its proximity to a cow farm or stock yard that made loading the car a little unpleasant. It took several miles of highway before we were able to get the manure oder from our car! October 2, 2013

Except for the side door being secured for construction necessitating having to use the front entrance for a room on the side and a slightly slow draining tub, my stay at your hotel was an excellent experience.
