We enjoyed staying here! We had plans to go to Six Flags in Vallejo and also we took the ferry over to San Francisco. It was also close enough to Napa that we enjoyed an afternoon there. The beds were comfortable, the pool was nice, the motel was quiet. We will stay here again when in the area.

I spend a lot of time in HIE all around the country. This one started out very nicely. I was upgraded when asked to be, the only issue was in some HIE a suite is actually a suite. I was surprised to find just a larger room and 1 TV, instead of 2 TV's and a separate sitting area. That being said, everything else was fine. One particular night my wife could not sleep because of persistent banging coming from what we thought was upstairs. After making calls to the font desk, the gentleman actually came up too the room and laid his head on the floor trying to figure out exactly where the noise was coming from. It was something that I was not expecting and was shocked to see. The next morning I was informed that I would be getting points back for the inconvenience we had experienced. It was nice to be treated that way without asking for it. The manager and the night desk man were fabulous to myself and my family, even making suggestions where to take my son for some birthday fun. Thank You.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Singleman90802 Good comfortable stay, except there was no soap.
As with all other Holiday Inn Express hotels, the Napa Valley one was also especially nice and comfortable. Enjoyed talking with the breakfast staff member who was really sweet. Only problem I had was that there was no soap in the bathroom when I arrived and because I was late for a meeting up in Napa, I had to wash my face and hands with shampoo. As I walked out of my room, I ran into a maintenance man who said he would make sure soap was there when I returned and it was.
Also was terribly distraught when I heard several weeks ago that the International Hotel in Cairo, Egypt that I had stayed at in 2007 and then owned by Holiday Inn was ravaged by rebels.

Less than a 15 min drive to downtown Napa, makes this property a hidden treasure. Staff was fantastic!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ChucknJax Some hiccups ....
Our stay at this hotel had some minor issues. Upon checking in, though room was large and clean. No washcloths, bathroom light bulbs burned out and no tissues. Called desk, immediately got clothes and tissues --- but even after two days of staying at hotel, we never got replacements for light bulbs. A/C was incredibly loud. Chose to sleep with window open (third floor) so a nice cool breeze worked just fine.
Hotel staff extremely nice and accommodating. Though do not ask for directions to local italian restaurant or Walgreens --- wrong directions each time.
Internet slow... slow... remember the old dial up?! Seems to be the case here. At times, never could get to websites.
Left turn out of hotel is impossible. Turn right make a u turn or go into Walmart parking lot to come out to get to main road.
Hiccups are to be expected at times when traveling --- the willingness for the staff to overcome these is A+.
Special thanks to Kenny.

This holiday inn express is wonderful. Friendliest staff of any 5 or 6 star hotel for much less money. Great value. Great location.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JD52 Noisy Air Conditioning
This property looks nice and seems to be fairly new and the bed was comfortable. However, the selection of pillows does not include any which were not thick so my head was at an uncomfortable angle when sleeping on my back (where I spend most of my sleep time). This caused some sleep difficulty. Worse than the pillows was the air conditioner. This was a cool night and needed some heat. The unit was extremely noisy and did not have a setting to keep the fan running. Every 2 to 3 minutes the unit would come on then shut off for the same amount of time. I might have actually slept through a few of these cycles, but I was awakened over and over each time it came on. This resulted in a very restless night - in the truest sense of the word. I got very little rest. I would not recommend this hotel until it changes it's air conditioner and control units.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SLrider55 Excellent hotel, some administrative issues
This hotel always provides an excellent stay. Clean, comfortable, (exercise facility is limited) and friendly.
But, my bill for the last two stays has not been correct. My advice (and you probably do this anyhow) is to be sure and check the rate on the invoice. I think/hope it is a computer glich, but annoying none-the-less.

If you are spending time in the wine country, this is a great value and offers easy access to Napa Valley vineyards.

Heater was so noisy I had asked to change rooms. Staff was very accommodating but next room was just as bad. Had to sleep with the heat off ( it did not work all that well anyway) so was a very cold night.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Doodle22 Friendly Staff and Comfortable Room
I stay here several times a year. The staff is friendly and knows the area well. In the last three years I only had one experience with loud nighbors, the front desk people took care of the noise. There is plenty of food and shoping near by. The room is easy to relax in the bed is clean and comfortable. This hotel is a very good value for the area, super easy to get to Sonoma, Napa, St.Helena and Calistoga and Six Flags.

The hotel is in a good location and we got a good value because we prepaid our room. It is located in a shopping center with a Wing Stop, Starbucks, Walmart and lots of other shops & banks nearby.
The room was a great size, I really enjoyed it. Comfy beds.
There was free breakfast which consisted of coffee, juices, pastries and eggs and sausage. The eggs were strange but everything else was good. It was okay for being free.
I would definitely stay here again.

Should not promote this property as in the Napa Valley. I know that it is so, technically. But compared to Napa itself, it is in a very noisy and traffic-filled location. We came to tour the wine country and found ourselves in a Wal-Mart parking lot. The hotel itself was OK and with good service, but I would never recommend this as a vacation property.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Winetaster Room Was Not Clean
This is a great location for a midway point between the Napa and Sonoma wine country areas. The property is newer, but our room wasn't clean. The floors and the mini kitchen area was dirty. The staff was very friendly when we mentioned this issue and sent someone to clean up. It would be nice, though, if it was done right the first time. The room was otherwise comfortable with nice bedding and comfy mattress. The pool and hot tub area are clean, but the hot tub jets didn't work. Big let-down since we really enjoy having a cocktail and a soak. Hot breakfast is very good with lots of selections. They just kept running out of everything very quickly. There's no bar or restaurant, but several close-by restaurants and a Starbucks across the street for those of us who don't like standard low-grade hotel coffee. Pricing is a little high, but that seems to be the norm in this area.

Clean, comfortable rooms with modern amenities. Great hotel if you're looking for someplace close to Napa but don't want to pay Napa prices. Added benefit of being located near many stores and restaurants, as well as a large WalMart shopping center.

Hotel was good location to visit Napa, with prices lower than in Napa. Front desk employees were very helpful on a few occasions when we asked for recommendations or help about the area. Breakfast was plentiful with a nice variety. Only small complaint was remote for TV in room didn't work well. Overall the hotel was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Also, close by to many restaurants and shopping.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by raphatr Great Location to Napa! Comfortable bed & room
The hotel was great with the exception of breakfast. Both weekend mornings fell a little short with the demand, not enough of most things or very long waits in between. You would thin k they know how many people or a good estimate by room bookings. I dont stay because of the breakfast; but it does make it convenient so that would be an area of needed improvment. Otherwise the staff, rooms and location are great!

We had a great time in Napa Valley and the hotel was well worth the stay. We stayed for 2 nights; room service made up the room quickly and efficiently giving us plenty of time between trips on the Wine Train.
The Hotel was situated on the main road into Napa making to and from our destination manageable. I would recommend this hotel.
