Linen quality was outstanding and bath towels were large and fluffy. Breakfast was great and the staff was courteous and accommodating. Fitness center was clean and complete for travel needs and pool/spa room also clean and comfortable. November 19, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Among the less favorable within the chain This hotel is conveniently located by the highway in Ashland so it mostly attracts travelers driving through and have nothing to do with the town. It is distant to the downtown area and most eateries. There are a lot of homeless people around which I believe is due to a facility providing to them right across from the hotel. Some of them sleep in the backyard of the hotel. Also, there were people up all night long and making very loud noises due to being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, which is a common issue in this town. This did not bother me too much as I am a deep sleeper but it can be a major issue for most people. While the facility keeps up to the standards of the chain, the management and staff do not. They act like they are doing a favor to you and do not make you feel welcome. I stay at tens of Holiday Inn hotels across the nation every year as an IHG Rewards Platinum Member and know the standard practices much better than the staff who only work at one particular location. When I brought certain discrepancies to the front desk's attention, they disregarded, refused to comply and said "guess we do things differently in Ashland". They refuse to honor regular practices of the IHG chain even when asked, while other hotels will provide them without inquiry. Management is also not customer service oriented and does not care for customer satisfaction. Front desk said that they are instructed to direct all inquiries as they are not authorized to assist and handed me a card of the general manager, which is obviously a game since the manager entirely ignored my communication and did not even bother to send a courtesy reply. This instantly makes me feel like I dealt with a business in a third world country. I cancelled a portion of my reservation and stayed at an IHG hotel in Medford which is 15 miles north and it was a much better experience. Since this is an IHG hotel, it is above certain criteria and you will not be extremely disappointed in any case. However, if you have a choice, you're better off staying at another IHG hotel as this one is among the bad ones in the chain. November 14, 2014
