Tucked behind a Rite Aid with a tree blocking it's sign until the last minute before you have to turn, it's a little tough to find on your first try. Once you find it you'll be glad you chose it.
It's located less than a block from the on and off ramp for US 33 yet does not bother your sleep with highway noise. Beds are very comfortable, rooms are clean and staff bends over backward to assist in any needs.
Breakfast is very good and leftover snacks are available in the lobby after hours along with hot coffee. I'll be back.

We had been traveling for 2 weeks and this was the best hotel we stayed at. The beds were so comfy we fell asleep from exhaustion at 8pm and slept in. Breakfast was wonderful. Definitely plan to stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Minners93 Great beds and pillows!
We were here for our son's orientation at OU. The room was very nice. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling a little bit and there was a small amount of dirt around the base of the tub, but not that big of a deal. We slept very well after a full day of walking. We had to unplug the refrigerator because it was so nosy, but we didn't have anything in there but water so it wasn't important. We definitely will stay here again.

I've stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels and this one was by far my least favorite. Over priced, the refrigerator in the room didn't work, they gave me a $10 credit woo hoo!! The hallways other than the first floor were very hot and humid. The slowest elevators I've ever seen. The bathrooms in my room could have been cleaner, and the shower, well I wouldn't call it a shower. I would avoid this one.

Everything great, but breakfast could improve to stand above the other chains.

The Holiday Inn is an excellent choice for accommodations in Athens, Ohio. No complaints about our stay, as we were totally pleased. We got 2 goodnight's sleep in very comfortable beds and enjoyed a satisfying breakfast each morning.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Johnson53 Not bad for a college town
Having stayed in many hotels in small college towns, this property does an OK job. Everything seemed, clean, but there were a couple of minor problems that I asked the staff to take care of that were not. There was no remote control in the room (and you could not change the TV channels without it!), and the toilet was extremely slow filling after a flush. The pool was also a bit cloudy, and the hot tub was pretty lame.
Still, better than sleeping in a dorm room!
