Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not recommend I do not recommend this hotel. It is old, cold, and dreary. There are better hotels within walking distance of this one. The staff were friendly, but I want more out of my stay than friendly staff. It is located on a dreary street and all I saw out of my window was a brick wall. It was the most depressing hotel that I have ever stayed at. February 26, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Bed but very small room The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room,bathroom and elevator was very small for the price paid a night for the room. This is was the smallest king suite I have stayed in ever in a holiday inn express. I like the location since it was very close to the Phillips Arena and CNN, and Coca Cola. February 25, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff was terrific, the room not so much. The staff was absolutely the best and it was only them that made it an okay vacation. The rooms however are too small and very much over priced, but clean! Whole place looks like it is still being updated but the quality of the craftsmanship is very poor. increase the size of the rooms, decrease the number of rooms, upgrade the decor and remodel to remove the look of "just add paint and everything is better" because it's not. Just take a gander at the where the ceiling meets the walls, see through the paint to the walls just to name a couple of very noticeable items. I would not stay there again. Breakfast not at all appealing nor tasty. But you can't go wrong with cereal and milk so stick to that. Now the staff, they were friendly, accommodating and very helpful. Recommended a great restaurant ! Really enjoyed our interactions with them. February 24, 2015

We had a large clean room, a separate sitting/office area, each with it's own t v, frig, coffee/tea, and microwave. Breakfast bar had a good selection, great coffee. This is an older hotel that's been redesigned to fit the HIExpress profile. A few things still needed to be looked into: vessel sinks with very little counter space are impractical, no place to put accessories for two people. Hot water took 5 minutes to reach the 8th floor, a waste of water. Not ONE elevator can hold a luggage cart and three guests. Music in the lobby was loud, made it hard the hold a conversation. Valet parking is the only way to go, but BEWARE it's $25. a day. Once they tweek a few things, this site will be up to par with their "highway" hotels. February 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Bad Dirty floors, rude front desk clerk, parking is terrible. The parking saga is true, they want you to pay 25 a night for valet and will try to steer you away from parking at the meter in front of the hotel. Very dirty, cig butts in the lobby and small rooms. No air ventilation in the bathrooms....just stay away from this one. The pic is an abandoned cart left in the hall way. February 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DT ATL Holiday Inn Express The hotel staff at the front desk, valet, housekeeping were very good. The breakfast support staff were non-existent and the coffee was cold as I seemed to get the last of what was in the carafes. Hot water took a long time to get up to my room on the 8th floor. Room overall was very nice and despite the minor challenges, I would recommend this hotel. February 22, 2015
