She cannot use a tub/shower arrangement and it is difficult to find hotels with accessible showers. Holiday Inn Express provides this service and our recent stay in Austin was no exception. As a bonus, the room was located on the first floor, convenient to exit and very comfortable for both of us. The room was quiet, clean and spacious. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. We were in Austin to be with a family member having surgery at Brackenridge Hospital and the hotel was an easy commute to the hospital. The room and amenities allowed us to heat and eat a light meal at night following a stressful day at the hospital and we both rested well to face the following day. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Austin area and look forward to staying at Holiday Inn Express even when traveling alone. August 31, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Age Staff was quite friendly and the location is adequate to restaurants and shopping. However, the room suffered from lack of attention, i.e. one part of the baseboard in the bathroom was unpainted, as if someone overlooked it years ago when they remodeled. Hairs observed on the bathroom floor - very disgusting. Biggest complaint is the lack of deep, aggressive cleaning. The breakfast "food," as with other chain hotels, is absolutely atrocious. I would rather they pass on the fake eggs and sausage and just stock up on healthy food. I am not hating, just making observations - we did sleep well, and appreciated the friendly employees. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by booking process needs help ... hotel was great we have nothing but good to say about the hotel and the staff. the central booking process was however, another story. we called in to reserve the room after having scouted out the prices on line. a) they initially wanted to give us a higher price than advertised in their own ads. b) the clerk making the reservation made an error and booked the wrong date.... not the end of the world because things happen. we discovered it when the confirmation email came. c) we spend close to an hour having to talk to several levels of customer service personnel just to try to get them to correct their error. They wanted us to go to the hotel and plead the case the local manager. Seriously? d) finally ...( and fortunately I have unlimited cell time), the third person we talked to took responsibility and corrected their error. August 4, 2014

He was able to tell us where to go eat and some site-seeing spots during my down time. In addition, the whole staff was very friendly and accommodating during my stay. We asked to stay longer as the wedding wasn't until the evening and were accommodated. We would definitely stay here again. July 22, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No Hot Water and Breakfast Under Staffed I had no hot water in the room even after maintenance was called up there to investigate by running the hot water at least 5 more minutes than the 10 I had already done so. Breakfast was very busy and there was only one person stocking the buffet. There should have been more help as bacon was never brought out and when the new omelets were out they lasted all of about 3 minutes. Because of the hot water incident management did discount the room and give bonus points (although not elite eligible - what's the point) and it took talking to the front desk 3 times to make this happen (the front desk staff should be empowered to make the guest happy). Also the signage for the hotel could use some work, it took a while to locate the property, it has a small sign out front and the hotel does not face the highway and hidden by trees. All in all I usually love stay at HI Express but this is not one that is being kept up as well as others. July 14, 2014

Even though this Holiday Inn is not the closest to downtown Austin (I've stayed at 2 others), this one can't be beat for price, quality of the room, and friendliness of the staff.
