I had no hot water in the room even after maintenance was called up there to investigate by running the hot water at least 5 more minutes than the 10 I had already done so.
Breakfast was very busy and there was only one person stocking the buffet. There should have been more help as bacon was never brought out and when the new omelets were out they lasted all of about 3 minutes.
Because of the hot water incident management did discount the room and give bonus points (although not elite eligible - what's the point) and it took talking to the front desk 3 times to make this happen (the front desk staff should be empowered to make the guest happy).
Also the signage for the hotel could use some work, it took a while to locate the property, it has a small sign out front and the hotel does not face the highway and hidden by trees. All in all I usually love stay at HI Express but this is not one that is being kept up as well as others.

I booked a room here because of a positive experience in March at this hotel. Even though this Holiday Inn is not the closest to downtown Austin (I've stayed at 2 others), this one can't be beat for price, quality of the room, and friendliness of the staff. Will be booking here in the future.

This hotel has a great location. Convenient to anywhere in N. Austin. Easy to get to. Lots of amenities close by. Friendly staff.

I had a very good experience with my stay at the hotel. The staff were great to work with, the room was clean and well kept up. I enjoyed the continental breakfast and the variety that it provided. The pool area was small but met my needs and the exercise room was a nice addition to my stay.

We made reservations at another hotel down the street and were very disappointed when we arrived. We drove further down the road and found the Holiday Inn Express. We were pleasantly surprised and truly enjoyed our stay!

I had a great experience here this past weekend- the room was so nice and big and clean. They had a great breakfast in the morning. The staff was polite and friendly and it was easy and quick to get to all the cool spots in Austin. I would definitely stay here again!

As a traveling businessman a reliable business center is often critical. While this hotel offered a computer it was unable to print a pdf document.. Staff unable to help or provide alternative. TV channels were not as advertised and since I had made reservation on IHG system, desk refused to provide corporate discount. Moved to competitive chain just down the street and for less money had much better experience. Very disappointed in this property.

My wife and I combine business and relaxation when we travel. This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. When we checked in, the gentleman on duty at the front desk was extremely polite and helpful, and he went out of his way to ensure that we needed nothing. The room was spotless, and the bed was as comfortable as any I’ve ever slept on. It was a completely enjoyable stay, and we heartily recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel rooms were fine but the gym equipment was either broken or ridiculously old. They need a to upgrade. Don't stay here if you need a workout room.

Only complaint I had was having an adjoining room. It was fine my first 4 nights. But the last night, the guys in the room next to me were up well after 1 in the morning laughing, talking about sports & socializing. I know they were in their room. But I could hear them as if they were sitting on the bed next to me. I was in town for work & had to be up early the next morning. They kept me up for quite some time that night. Other than that I enjoyed my stay & have no complaints. I did request that my stay next month not be an adjoining room & the staff said she could do that for me.

I usually stay at this property when I'm in Austin without any problems, but this time was the worst. The first night I sat down at the desk to do some work and discovered that the chair would not elevate to allow me to type on my keyboard. I had to elevate my arms above my shoulders. The next morning when I went to shave, I discovered that I didn't have hot water. It was lukewarm at best, even in the shower. I muddled through and still got ready for the day. When I past by the hotel desk I mentioned these to the lady at the desk and she told me that these two instances would be addressed during the day. When I returned that evening, I opened my door to find that I did have an operational replacement desk chair, but when I checked the water it was still not taken care of. In fact it wasn't even lukewarm. I went back down to the desk and asked to either switch rooms or have someone take care of the problem. They said that they would be up to my room immediately. After almost 2 hours, I went back downstairs and let the desk know that the problem still wasn't fixed nor had been addressed. Within minutes, maintenance was there and had plenty of HOT water flowing. When I woke the next morning and went to shave, not only did I NOT HAVE hot water, but I had very LITTLE water pressure. It took me approx 15 minutes to get enough water into the sink so that I could take a sponge bath with COLD water.This time when I departed the hotel I let the front desk clerk know about the problem. She told me that they had been working on the sprinkler line and something happened that the entire hotel lost water. I'm not sure how a sprinkler line would affect the main line in a building, since usually a sprinkler line taps into the main line. If you have a busted sprinkler line, you cut the sprinkler system off and the main line remains open. She offered me either points or to credit my room for one night. I opted for the credit of one night, but after checking out I realized that considering these problems began at check-in, my room should have been comped both nights. I will be returning to Austin in a few weeks and will give them another try. I realize everyone has a bad day.
