Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ashtabula Weekend The major drawback about this hotek is that there is no place except McDonald type places around it to eat. You have to drive 10 miles to Ashtabula or Geneua to find a nice place fot dinner or lunch. October 31, 2014

I'm afraid the cost of the Holiday Inn's, in most cases, are approaching and exceeding $130 per night. While I like Holiday Inn, I'm afraid the cost per night has exceeded the value returned. Sorry Holiday Inn, I like Priority Club but the free market must prevail. October 31, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wine Country Winner This Holiday Inn Express met my expectations for what a Holiday Inn Express should be - clean, comfortable, excellent service. The front desk staff was very friendly and concerned that I enjoyed my stay. The housekeeping staff even made sure I had all firm pillows. Once again, I wish HIE hotels would have a few standard pillows on hand as these squishy pillows are not comfortable and not willing to stay on the bed. The hot breakfast is much preferred over cold continental fare but I wish they would drop the gamey turkey sausage. The nice thing about this hotel brand is that it is reliable and fairly consistent among its properties. October 29, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room/poorly managed front desk Amt. charged for our 2 rooms was more than e-mail confirmation. Expected to quickly and easily resolve this at front desk. Not so. Young woman on desk was working alone and said she did not have authority or know how to make adjustment and there was no one on site who could do so. Asked her to call her mgr. at home and was told that she had tried that and mgr. would not answer. We were told she would leave msg. for mgr. to call us when she returned. This was not a satisfactory resolution for us, but Cassie (at the front desk ) was unwilling to make any adjustment that she wasn't authorized to do so for fear of reprimand from her supervisor. We do not fault Cassie. What kind of mgr. leaves someone on front desk who can do nothing but accept keys when a guest leave??? Head of housekeeping overheard our conversation and stepped up to help. She too tried calling mgr. and got no response, but she did not let it rest there. She realized that the issue needed to be resolved and she did just that by adjusting our bill and showing Cassie how to do so. Your head of housekeeping at Ashtabula/Geneva could not have been more professional, courteous, kind and competent!!! She is certainly a valued employee that we hope you recognize and reward accordingly. On the other hand, whoever is responsible for training your front desk employee is doing a less than adequate job. The phone in one of our rms was not working and I let front desk know, but also told them it wasn't a big deal since I wouldn't need it. This was around 9 p.m. She asked to have person in our 2nd rm try calling our rm and let front desk know if it worked. We did and it didn't, so guest in 2nd rm tried calling desk to let her know.. Guest relations would not answer phone, so we walked down to desk to inform them as was requested. Employee was there and said, "I'll be honest with you, there's nothing going to be done tonight". I didn't need the phone; it was just the way the whole thing was handled. Probably not the impression you would like your guest to have. Summing it up: Management definitely needs improvement!! HEAD OF HOUSEKEEPING IS THE BEST! APPRECIATE AND REWARD THE VALUED EMPLOYEE YOU HAVVE!! October 26, 2014
