Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by STAFF AND SERVICE BAD REVIEW I just want to thank Holiday inn for such a comfortable stay, and want to compliment matt at front desk at check in, he took the time to accommodate my request & to take care of my cash payment at c/in. My compliments to house keeping they made a great job in my room and my compliments to the Breakfast attendant lady- she was very helpful & friendly. Unfortunately I have to mention that at c/o I was beat disappointed with the Front desk staff at c/o on sun morning. Due the morning rush I was trying to leave the hotel ASP to make in on time as every body else, but run out of cash to tip the maids, I when by the desk & asked to Michelle ( I believe her name was) And she rolled her eyes to me as soon I asked x change; she stated me all she had were only 20 bill and that she needed to hold on her change, It was weird that what she said that I had to ask her not to continue her explanation since it was not friendly at all, then I when to eat breakfast and meet as she was walking by the other front desk girl the one whit short brown hair And I asked her in Spanish if she could assisted me in getting cash change since what already happened whit michelle, unfortunately I wasn't that lucky because she said yeha all we got are only $20. bills that made more sense than just 20 dll at all; but my disappointment was when she asked me to wait for her; I thought she was on her break time since she was walking to the breakfast kitchen And I apologized to her if I was interrupting her brake time but she indicated me that she was not on her brake but that I had to wait until she could go and grab food; and to wait until I was done eating my food, mmmmm ???? I mentioned to her I Was in a rush to leave and that I didn't feel comfortable talking to michelle so If she could help me,but instead she leaved me alone standing up in the breakfast room while she grab her food and then walked around me in the opposite side to return to her desk. I got up to go back to the front desk since I Saw her eating in the back desk, I keep waiting her to come at the main desk and help me since I keep seeing her looking up to what I believe is the monitor screen right over her head, she acknowledge I was there but she never made an effort to make an eye contact or to returned to help me back as I keep waiting for her. Due My rush to leave I had no more option that to walk around my self to search in the hallway for any house keeper in order to get in touch whit the house keeper supervisor And I got it, one of the nice lady took the time to bring her over for me so I could finally leave the Tip x my maid.. what a experience!!! I had no other choice that finalize my bill and c/o procedure whit michelle since At this point of the morning the girl in the back was and seating and eating comfortably her food pretending she wasn't looking out. I got really disappointed because at check in she was extremelly helpful , I was really tired of working and driving all day and I was all confused and hungry that she made a great job, that is why I felt way much comfortable to speak whit her on the breakfast on Sunday morning but it was way 2 different at c/o that I had this type of experience whit both girls at c/o that I couldn't just keep it for my self I had to share this whit management or who ever read my feed back. Since I Believe this was unacceptable and I truly believe if I keep it down other guest could experience something like this and that will be very sad, social media is really working out there and mouth to mouth is how businesses is run now days. I preferred to give you my feed back to you the hotel directly only but please keep in mine, front desk staff are for assisting guest not to roll eyes not to let them alone when told I'll be there and not to let the guest to find who is house keeper in charge in order to be able to make a tip x their great and wonderful job. The hotel is attractive, superbly maintained and supported by a caring and well informed staff. My room was simply excellent. The bed was comfortable and the entire room and bathroom immaculate. The breakfast options in the buffet would satisfy the most starving guest while serving those of us who eat only lightly equally well. When next in Bakersfield this Holiday Inn will be first choice. There are other hotels nearby for less but don't offer nice clean rooms as they do here. I will stay at this location again! June 18, 2014

The ice water by the front desk was very refreshing considering the warm weather outside. Greatly appreciated the staff member turning on the room's air conditioner before arrival. 2nd nite of 1st trip to Bakersfield and appreciated the room's contemporary decor, many thanks. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent hotel We had attended our annual Jehovahs Witnesses convention in Bakersfield, Ca. so the hotel was full. This is One of the best hotel stays we have had. Staff was very courteous and cared for our comfort. The room was very pleasing and clean. Breakfast was outstanding. The only discomfort was the height of the bathroom sink, to high, also something the hotel may want to think about is with the amount of people during this stay, the need for luggage carts was in great need, three is not enough. The dinning area is quite small, many of us had no place to sit. But all in all a great hotel. June 14, 2014

I'm thinking she is no longer there and this time staff members were very good. The rooms are always very clean and the most important room, the bathroom is very clean and set up very well. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bakersfield?! I travel a lot. I spend 5-6 days a week on airplanes and in hotels. Business took me to Bakersfield, and I looked for an IHG property to stay at. My expectations of finding a nice place in a city like Bakersfield were modest at best. Then I walked into the lobby of this hotel. What an incredible surprise! If looked like the lobby of a swanky European hotel. The staff was welcoming and sincere, and check-in was swift. The room was as big a surprise as the lobby. Modern, spotless, clearly the work of a designer on their game. In fact, the entire hotel was on their game. The front desk staff went out of their way to recommend restaurants, and when I returned from dinner, inquired about the experience. If ever my travels lead me back to Bakersfield, I will make a point of staying at this hotel again. The IHG should be very proud of this property. June 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Another Good stay at a Holiday Inn Express We travel quite a lot by car, and have for the past few years tried to stop where there is a Holiday Inn Express. The consistent quality of the chain overall is the main reason for that. The Bakersfield Holiday Inn was no exception. It was very nice, clean, had a good pool, Staff was friendly and outgoing and very helpful when needed. Only downside was that the TV remote did not work properly, and switching them out did not fix the problem. They did all they could, and probably fixed it the next day when they could bring in someone with expertise, but when you are in a hotel and all you can watch is MSNBC, that puts a damper on your stay. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive customer service - warm and humbling Dear Michelle (front desk manager), I am writing to express my appreciation for the quality of service you offered me the days of my stay at Holiday Inn Express Bakersfield. I enjoyed the clean, comfortable and well-kept hotel and more importantly the excellent service you have given me, despite the problems I’ve put forward to your attention. From the moment I stepped in the hotel, you welcomed me with your warm and inviting smile. On my first evening I had problems with flushing the toilet, and with no one from maintenance team available you moved me to a different room. Before moving me, I am pleased that you physically checked the room and that the toilet facilities are in working order. The following day, I had issues with the airconditioner in the second room I was moved to. It seemed that the cooling component wasn’t working and again there were no maintenance support available. Without hesitation you sourced another room that I could migrate to. It was a hot day, and I deeply appreciate you cooling the room first before I moved in. I had another incident before I checked out; there was a domestic issue in the room next to mine in the middle of the night. There were so much noise that lasted for more than an hour, and I contacted the front desk several times as I was concerned about the guests’ well-being. Although you weren’t there that evening, you spoke to me the next day apologizing for the commotion going on next door. One final incident I had was with the cable tv, and again you were very responsive, helpful and very obliging. Although I encountered several problems during my stay, I enjoyed it overall because of the warmth hospitality you have given me during my stay. So many thank you Michelle. On another note, I would like to acknowledge Maria, serving in the breakfast room. She was so friendly and very ensure everything in the breakfast room were operational and sufficient food was available as more guests came in for breakfast. I will definitely recommend your hotel to friends and family, and I’m sure I’ll be back again. I hope to get the same quality of service when I return. Thanks again, see you soon. June 10, 2014

IN THE MORNING SEVERAL GROUPS OF WORKERS GROUPED TOGETHER GOSSIPING. I ASKED FOR THE MANAGERS NAME (RAJ) BUT DIDNT WANT TO MAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT. I WENT TO BREAKFAST BAR AND THEY WERE MISSING BISQUITS BUT HAD THE GRAVY SO I WENT BACK TO MY ROOM AND PACKED. WENT BACK AFTER A WHILE STILL NO BISQUITS AND EVERYONE STILL IN SAME POSITION STILL GOSSIPING. SO I JUST LEFT TO WORK, TOO BAD I REALLY LIKED THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE LOBBY. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best deal in town! Everything was great except small concern about the location. Turned out just fine. The hotel is located in an industrialized area. No other hotels nearby. All was good except when the train went by at 6am tooting its horn. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating and breakfast was good. Rooms were nicely appointed and comfortable. Everything was clean and in good working order. Highly recommended. All other rooms in Bakersfield were either booked or at least 30% higher in cost that night. Location is not the greatest but I will stay here again. May 18, 2014

We had at least 25 rooms and was there for a funeral and they made our stay comfortable and pleasant during this most difficlult time. Some of our party was sometimes very loud when socializing with other reatives or friends and your staff held their composure while still trying to keep order. I want to personally thank everyone that worked so hard to accomodate our family during this difficult time. It will never be forgotton. March 27, 2014

Our room had new, upgraded and modern bathroom fixtures, new carpet, décor and furniture. The breakfast room had new furniture with new built in seating units. Everything was wonderful. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Hotel & Great Service We were on our way to Palm Springs and stopped in Bakersfield. Since we have an ING card, we stopped at the Holiday Inn Express. This hotel has undergone a major renovation and was just beautiful. The room was very spacious, well laid out and appointed. The breakfast room was spacious and very inviting, as well as having a large variety and good quality breakfast. The front staff were also very helpful in recommending good restaurants within walking distance. They even provided guests with freshly baked cookies in the evening. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and this chain as we have always enjoyed our visits at the Holiday Inn Express. February 24, 2014
