Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Convenient hotel I booked 6 rooms for party guests and the beds were of varying comfort; some hard and others soft! Staff were helpful as they made up the put you up bed for my daughter as her husband is 6ft 8in and they could not fit into a standard bed. Disappointed that the beds were not king size so in future would book a twin. Good that the hotel is open 24 hours as arrived back therE at 2am after spending three hours in Horton A&E!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by lack of any service at breakfast !! the restaurant was a complete shambles for breakfast. we were told that they were not allowed to serve bacon for breakfast !! could you explain why this is ? eggs over cooked .food not all ready at same time..lack of heating in rooms and no heating in tables laid up in restaurant and extremely unhelpfull retaurant staff.. Very good location , right on motorway Junc. and 15min walk into Banbury, clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi is a boon even if a little slow at times, and the breakfast more than adequate to set you up for the day August 28, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hit and Miss The whole experience was somewhat varied. From the start, David was extremely helpful, accommodating and warm. He made the whole booking process painless which is exactly what anyone wants when looking at hotels. He also went one step further and organised my membership card to be reissued to me even though I hadn't requested it. Upon arrival, the receptionist (sorry, I didn't get her name) was also warm and friendly. While the room wasn't ready (this was expected as it was before the 2pm check-in time) she helped point me in the right direction when I asked for some restaurant recommendations. When we eventually got our room, we were given a triple room as requested but the room had been set up for only 2 people. I asked the front desk to rectify this and we agreed this would be done when we were out for the evening... which it was. Up until now, the service was exactly at the expected level. Unfortunately, it all fell apart at the point of check out. The receptionist (Shana maybe?) was about to charge me a higher price than what was confirmed to me. She refused to believe that I was offered the price I was claiming... in fact she refused to really engage with me until I was able to show her proof of my confirmation, which I did. It was her coldness and inability to show any warmth whatsoever that frustrated me. But what was worse, is that once I had proven I wasn't lying, she then started blaming David for not adding any notes etc to the reservation. While this may be the case, I understand these notes can sometimes be missed. What I think is unprofessional is not engaging with the guest and making one feel like a small creature, but also to blame your colleagues in front of the guest. Mistakes happen... take responsibility and move on. It's a shame a perfectly carefree weekend had to finish this way. August 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ensure 'Non Smoking Room' is in fact a 'Non Smoking Room' We arrived very late with our family, having booked a non-smoking room. Unfortunately, when we arrived the room we were allocated was horribly smelling of smoke. Due to the lateness (11.30pm), we decided not to ask for a change of room. However, upon telling the receptionist in the morning, she said she would inform housekeeping, and did apologise. August 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ideal stop over First time we have stopped at the holiday inn in Banbury and we were very impressed.very clean,helpful staff and a nice quiet room.Bed large and comfortable.My only down point is the free WIFI was a bit slow,but that may have been my laptop.Apart from that a good stop and one we will use again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not a great bed The hotel was great having sky in the room was a very pleasant surprise the only issue was when I booked I asked for a king size bed and did ask the question "it's not too beds strapped together is it?" And was told it wasn't when we arrived it was very late after visiting family in Wales then making the three and half hour journey to the hotel we were very disappointed to discover that there was no king size bed and that it was too bed strapped together as it was so late when we checked in we just tried to make the best of it and get some sleep which wasn't a lot. The guy on reception in the morning was very helpful and we asked if we could just have an extra duvet on the bed to try and pad it out so the gap wasn't so noticeable as when the bed was made and you lay on it you couldn't feel the gap so much . Apart from the bed issue the hotel was friendly very clean in a great location with a Franky & Bennys and a Toby cavery across the car park I would recommend and stay again just not request a bigger bed next time . Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good stay with restaurants on doorstep Seemed like a newly refurbished or newly built holiday inn, room was clean and comfortable, Toby Carvery and Frankies & Bennys just over the road. Hotel staff were friendly, great location, good car park. Breakfast was good although not much choice of cooked breakfast, scrambled eggs, beans and sausages only available, however was still tasty. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Business Three Night Stay My first impressions of the hotel were that it was modern clean and professional looking. The staff on reception were well presented and very welcoming. Check in was efficient and I was in my room within a few short minutes. The room was very clean and tidy and was equipped to a good standard. Simple efficient air conditioning made the room temperature nice and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean but only had a shower and poorly lit. The bar has a good range of beverages but suffers from slow service and a poor seating area (an extension of the lobby in full view of the Entrance and exit) The cooked breakfast is very limited consisting of just scrambled egg, baked beans and sausage. The main food menu is also very limited offering just a handful of options and again suffers from slow service. In summery the hotels positives are its staff Its negatives are they are expected to cover too many bases, therefore service suffers August 11, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Brief stay We arrived quite late and left very early, so our experience at the hotel was limited. Having said that, the check-in and check-out processes were fast and efficient and the room was clean and comfortable, apart from a very unpleasant smell of damp in the bathroom. The breakfast choice was quite limited even for a normal diet, however I need a gluten free diet, so there was little obviously available that I could eat. I asked a member of staff if there were an GF choices and she was extremely helpful and went to the kitchen to arrange for some toast to be made. August 11, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Attention To Detail I use this facility because it suits my needs when I come and visit relatives in Banbury. I like it because it is functional and on the whole provides a quiet, clean room at a fair price. I have been using the Banbury Holiday In Express now for nearly 3 years and regrettably the standards have gradually slipped to a point where it becomes really noticeable. I used to feel like I was treated with respect and as a "valued" guest, even at the cheaper end of the hotel market which I know this is, but even common courtesy seems to be difficult for the current enterprise, staff and management. I left from my last visit with an overall down-cast feeling, and not looking forward to my next visit and wondering if I should now try somewhere else. To top it all, I took a photo of the Main Entrance and what that displays, to me, sums up the whole place. I doubt HIE will publish it August 4, 2014

I wasn't sure about the hotel as it was so close to the motorway, but we never heard a thing. Really varied breakfast with hot and cold choice and excellent coffee. August 2, 2014

The staff are very helpful and friendly and the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast is a highlight and the range of food would cater to even the fussiest eater. There is plenty of free parking and the location of the Inn is within 5 minutes of the town centre. July 31, 2014
