i've been a priority club member now rewards club since 2009, at first I was skeptical reading some of the hotel reviews, since this time it was on my personal account I wanted that my hard earned money was worth and the hotel exceeded my expectation. With that I give you an A+.

The new Holiday Inn Express is a nice property that is very reasonably priced. The staff is attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable of the area. The breakfast was tasty and enough to get you going in the mornings. Rooms and common areas were always well maintained.
My only complaint was with taxi availability. With the location of this hotel being in a very touristy area, 4 out of 5 taxis will quote you a crazy price instead of using the meter. They know that they don't have to pick you up as there's another sucker just down the road. The hotel staff does not have the capability to arrange a taxi for you.
Save yourself some aggro and download the app MyTeksi (works in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, & Vietnam.) The app lets you book a taxi that will pick you up at your desired location and drop you off at your destination using the meter. It's an extra 20 baht in Thailand to book via MyTeksi that covers him coming to get you.
It would be really easy if the hotel sprang for a dedicated mobile device with this app for front desk staff to use to get taxis for guests (hint, hint.) It's simple to use and takes no more then a few seconds to search for a taxi.
