Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New amenities Stayed 3 nights. What I like about the hotel: 1) It's new. So the condition of the carpet, furniture and bathroom is like what you see in the pictures on the website. 2)Breakfast included. Value for money for the fact that it is included. Variety? Here's the menu for a typical breakfast: scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, fried rice, rice congee, coffee/tea/mocha from coffee machine, bread with jam/peanut butter, muffin, croissant, 3 types of cut fruit and whole apples, cereal, milk, soya milk, fruit juice, yoghurt. Hotel provides paper cups to take away drinks and guests can pack bread/pastries if they are in a rush. Very thoughtful. 3) Free wi-fi. (not a standard hotel provision) 4) Very near BTS National Stadium. However guests taking the train to note that you have to transfer to Siam Stn at Phaya Thai then to National Stadium. Expect to climb stairs! 5) Helpful and friendly security guard 6) 5 mins walk to MBK Suggestions for improvement / things to note: 1) On smoke stench as mentioned in previous posts... Hotel ought to train their housekeeping not to ignore the smell especially for rooms in non-smoking floors. My friend and I had requested for a non-smoking room, however the room that we were initially given was filled with the stench. We alerted Front Desk and a staff came promptly with an air freshener spray but it did not work. Hence we requested to change room. Though the staff did accede to our request, it was obvious they were reluctant and found it a hassle. They were also not able to be sure if the room would smell and appeared irritated when we asked what if we faced the same problem again. They could not offer any solution nor assurance and their reaction was as good as saying " too bad, we can't do anything, you just had to take it". 2) For those who are sensitive to noise, avoid rooms that are facing the train track. You can hear the train running from 6 am till around midnight? 3) As mentioned in previous posts, the water temperature fluctuates. Hmm... I wonder if the hotel actually rectify the problems mentioned in the posts since some of them are still being repeated here. December 11, 2012

My wife and I had our regular jogging in an open area. It was fun. The Complementary breakfast and free internet WiFi is a bonus. However breakfast should be improved and include variety. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 My Short Trip To BKK The Front Desk is able to process our check in and store our luggage since we arrives a wee hours. The Staff is friendly and room is comfortable especially I love the SOFT pillow there provided. Location wise is a bit far, like 5-8 mins walk to MBK, but its a experience since you get to have a first hand try on the street food stall along the road. Overall i have a great stay and will stay there again during my next trip. November 24, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WHAT A SURPRISE I was a little worried about what I would find and wondered if I should have gone to a more upper class hotel but, from the moment we entered this hotel we were surprised to find a hotel that was way beyond what we expected. The lobby was simple, but not the rest of the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and modern. The subdued lighting was very calming and the front desk staff were so nice to work with. The furnishings in our room were simple but very elegant . We enjoyed the food at the breakfast and the restaurant was clean, airy and had a wonderful view. The staff were constantly re-filling the dishes and someone was always nearby to help or to answer questions. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Bangkok. November 14, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 A Great Place to Stay Holiday Inn Express on Rama I Road is excellent in all areas: the staff are not only friendly, but warm and helpful; the inn is less than 1 year old, so everything works and is in tip-top condition; beds are like sleeping on clouds; shower is spacious; breakfast is plentiful and quite varied in choice. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Quality matters The house is absolutly new - I was told, but it looks rather unfinished. Paint on the funiture, dents at the mirrors it looks like it was finished in a hurry without supervising. Lamps not fixed or oblique-angled. The staff is friendly but unprofessionell. My bathroom was not clean - you dont want to see curly hairs in your bathroom. The room to the front are noisy, single glas and every 2 minutes a BTS train. Rooms to the back (I changed the room) much better. Breakfast room ist too small, a common problem at Holidayinn Express. The quality and variaty of food (breakfast) was just average. Is there a difference between normal guests and Gold members of Priority Club? No, not in any way! There is a lot to improve. November 10, 2012

I rate it very high value for money to staying this hotel in bangkok. Walking distance to Siam square, MRT.... Also, the breakfirst have on to go by your self... It woud be better to have additional wired LAN point in rooms that are not getting good WIFI coverage. b. Provide separate check-in and check-out queues for tour groups. During checking out, I was stuck behind a big tour group. Waited for half an hour to be served! A queue specially for priority club members would even be better. c. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cosy, convenient and worth to stay Overall I like the hotel just simple, cosy, convenient and very suit for long stay at Bangkok or either short trip. For me, I never have much time spend in the room but when i return to hotel after the long whole day shopping and walking, I really can relax myself. You really can feel the quiet and comfortable environment. great hotel, highly recommended! But only thing to improve is to have more variety of choice of breakfast as i realized the daily breakfast almost the same. But overall the food is healthy and nice. Thanks for the friendly staff let me have a pleasant trip in bangkok. I will definately come back again, yeap! October 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New hotel at amazing location & great service Frankly I was alittle hesitant about staying in an express hotel, but decided to try it because of its price and location which is near MBK. Turns out that the service of the staff is excellent, and the room is extremely new. Either it is a new setup or the upkeep of the hotel is excellent. Bed was good, comfortable and comes with different pillow types. Only thing is that I felt that the queen size bed seems alittle small, didn't measure it though. So not sure whether it is because I have always been sleeping on king size bed or whether the queen bed at the hotel is asian specifications. Quite a pity that I didn't spend much time in the room, but nevertheless, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. October 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A smart way of living in Bangkok I stay at Holiday Inn Express in Siam for 5 days during my holiday in Bangkok I recommended this hotel, the staff are friendly and speaking good English. The room quite nice and clean, got a nice pillow as well. The good things is they got an iPod dock and a free wifi in room and the connection was pretty fast! The breakfast are OK, but the hotel should give more variation for the buffet menu. So far my experience staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Siam, Bangkok was great! And would love to stay there again if I come to Bangkok. October 23, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Will not book again The booking was specifically for a queen bed and yet it seems the hotel only has double beds. The staff protested that this was in fact a queen bed and it was the biggest bed in the hotel. If I wasn't on a prepaid stay I would have left right then. For a new hotel the place is already falling apart. Wallpaper peeling, shoddy construction and no attention to details. The cord to boil water requires the pot to be directly under the TV. I wonder how long it will take to replace that. I found the soap/shampoo (in one) in the shower humorous. Staff in front were more interested in their tour groups than individual travelers. There is an option for room service but must pay in cash, no charges to the room. Being at the foot of BTS is great but a hotel needs more for me to come back. October 20, 2012

Doorman helpful to get taxi, friendily with a smile whenever we passed him. The room is great, love the 2 type of pillow offered. One area of improvement We would love to 'Save the Planet' by re using the bath towels if we have a place to hang dry the towels after we use. We have no place to dry 2 bath towels & have no choice but to ask for change The bath room is huge by standard & a towel rack where we can hang dry the towels would encourage guests to re use the towel more often October 18, 2012
