Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Experience we were very tired and wanted to sleep. At 11 pm two men began talking and laughing in a foreign language and continued until 2 am. I called the front desk and the talking continued, but farther away, perhaps in an adjoining room. Then at 2:30 a family arrived to the room next to us with a small girl who apparently woke up and wanted to talk. And of course the motel is adjacent to the largest train switching yard ever and when the talking let up the trains kept us awake. At any rate we did not sleep well, the bed wasn't very comfortable and we will never stay there again. March 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Safe and comfortable with excellent service! I had a very nice stay and felt very safe at this Holiday Inn Express location. The service was excellent; staff was friendly and helpful and were sensitive to my request for a quiet room on an upper floor. They also helped me with which route to take west considering the snowfall. March 11, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to Holiday Inn standard After spending 4 nights in 3 different IHG hotels on our way down I5, we found the Barstow Hotel, by comparison, not up to the Holiday Inn standard. It was the most expensive of the four and as such we found it over-priced, small, old and dirty-feeling. March 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Location and rooms A person can never go wrong with Holiday Inn. I love the bedding, clean rooms, and the wonderful showers. The City of Barstow, CA and the Holiday Inn Corporation should get together and inform travelers around Barstow, how to get to each of their Holiday Inn. My GPS sent me on strange roads. I never did find the first Holiday inn coming from the West going East. I finally stopped at Home Depot for directions, for the one off of 'L" street. They told me tourist stopped there all of the time to find the Holiday Inns. Where are the signs along the highway to let tourist know where lodging is located. Thank you March 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Its in Barstow The hotel is fine. It's clean and comfortable. But it's in Barstow. If you want a nicer place or more to do, the problem isn't the hotel, it's that you are in Barstow. If you are a light sleeper, the train yard will keep you up. You have to ask for a refrigerator, they are not in every room. There is no elevator, but there's only one flight of stairs. February 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quick stay While we stayed just a night, this hotel served it's purpose. We were on a road trip, got in late, left early. We stayed really close to the front desk and head things through out the night. The only other problem we had is the smoke smell. Most hotels in CA are smoke free. This hotel is not. While we requested a smoke free room, we could still smell a bit of smoke. Would have been more of an issue if we stayed longer. Other than that, it was great!' February 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy and No Way to Escape it This was second time we stayed in this motel. It is located next to a busy railyard that operates essentially all night. The screeching of brakes on railcars is extremely annoying. During our first visit, we could set the fan on the AC unit to run continuously and it masked the noise quite well. For this reason we decided to stay at the motel a second time about two years later. However, the second visit was not so pleasant. AC unit was rewired to make the fan intermittant no matter what it was set at so we not only had the screeching railroad noises, but the on/off the AC unit as well to contend with. February 5, 2013
